    Greening Pantabangan: La Consolacion College Manila's Commitment to Peace through Environmental Protection and Stewardship1

    Abstract Why La Consolacion College Manila is in Pantabangan is the main question that this paper will answer. Grounded on the school's commitment to environmental protection and stewardship, the paper will trace the development of LCCM's Pantabangan Eco-tourism Project from the implementation of the NSTP program, the school's application to the UNESCO-ASP net, and finally to the eventual MOA signing between LCCM and the Municipality of Pantabangan. It will also present an overview of the initial plan of action of the school as well as its hopes and aspirations in the greening of an identified area of Pantabangan Dam Watershed in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.

    Paper prepared for the International Conference 2004 on "The Role of Universities in the Quest for Peace" sponsored by the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning, held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City, 24-27 November 2004.
