One of the themes of the drama Rumpeltiltskin is that we should always take responsibility for our actions and words. When Lisas parents boasted of her abilities to the King, they had to take responsibility to the fact that Lisas life is in danger if she failed to turn straw into gold. Lisa also had to take responsibility for her promise to Rumpelstiltskin. She thought she could get away from her promise of her firstborn child, and when Rumpelstiltskin came to claim the baby, Lisa found herself in a difficult situation. Another theme is about the fact that being greedy and boastful can cause more harm than good. The Kings greed has led Lisa to act desperately and gave up her possessions to Rumpelstiltskin to prevent from getting her head cut off. In order to safe her life. Lisa had to seek Rumpelstiltskins help, and while it seemed like Rumpelstiltskin was accommodating, his services came with conditions.
