“ The Paintings “

Last meeting our professor gave us an assignment

wherein we have to choose at least two paintings that can
be found in our library. After roaming around the library,
two paintings caught my attention. The first painting is
painted by Johannes Vermeer entitled “ The Milkmaid “.
In this painting I see a lady pouring milk in a pot. While
looking in the painting I can say that this painting
somehow describes what a mother is. Because we all know
that mothers are the persons who do the household
chores and always make sure that their children are loved
and cared very much. The lady in the painting simply
represents what a mother is. And from that I can say
that this painting somehow teach us a lesson to treasure
and love our mothers for they are worthy.

The other painting that caught my attention is the

painting entitled “ The Gleaners “ by Millet Jean Francois.
In this painting I see three ladies harvesting rice in the
farm. From that painting I can see the simplicity of life
in the rural area. I can see the contentment in their face.
This painting simply explains the lifestyle of the people
living in the province. I can also say that this painting
shows how plain is their life. Because while looking in the
painting I can see that harvesting is a usual thing that
they do. And it has been a part of their life.
