Our Bag of Goodies for the Week

My friends will learn and apply a new reading strategy this week. They will learn how to Read Across the Word slowly while looking for chunks. We will use this newest strategy in addition to our others in order to further aide us in decoding tricky words!

Reading:

Writing:

My authors will publish their first October stories about scarecrows. We have dissected several Fall/October books as we have broken apart the beginning, middle, and end. My friends will now apply what they have learned in their own writings and make handcrafted scarecrows to match!

Wickedly Wonderful Bucket Busters!

Math:

My mathematicians will spend this short week deepening their understanding of subtraction. We will play several hands on games, use technology in order to listen and see how it works, and work in small groups.

Science/Social Studies:
Self-Control
