Short title and Commencement —{(1) These Rules may be called the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Annual Report) Rules. 2005. (2) They shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette 2, Definitions. —(1) In these Rules, unless the context athenwise requites @) “Act” means the Energy Conservation Act, 2001; (&) “Annual Repont” means the repo referred 10 in Section 23 ofthe Act (c) “Anal Statement of Accounts” means anmtal statement of accounts referred to in Section 25 ef the Act (@) “Bureau” means the Bureau of Energy Efficiency established under Sub-section (1) of Section 3 cf the Act: {e) “Director-General” means the Dizector-General f the Bureau appointed under Sub-section (1) of Section 3 ofthe Act (O) “Sceretary” means the Secretary ofthe Bureau appointed under Sub-section(2) of Section 9 ofthe Act {g) “Schedule” means the Schedule annexed to these Roles (h) “Year” means the financial year (2) Words and expression used herein and not defined in these rules but defined in the Energy Conservation Act 2001 shall have the meaning as assigned to them in that Act : +, Preparaticn of Annual Report 1) The Bureau shall prepare its Aanual Report each year gwing a full account ofits activities undertaken during the relevant year The annual report shall include in tt details of activities likely to be tindettaken by dhe Bureau during the next financial year, Annual Statement of Accounts duly certified by the Comptroller tid Auditor General of ladia Avdit Report, action taken report therean, Repert of the Director General and such other ‘Bocumenss as may be prescribed by the Centra) Government inthis regard 2) “The Amal Repost shall he ptepared in the formt specified in Form ‘A’ contained i th dle4. Authosity for preparation of Annual Report.—Scere:ary ofthe Bureau shall supervise the preparation of the Annual Report co casuredhat it faithfully reflects the activities undertaken or planned to be undertaken by the Burema and it ssusmitied to the Central Government in time 5. Submission of Annual Report—The Bureau shall submit the Annual Report to the Central Government duly approved by the Governing Council before 15th September of cach yerr for being laid hefare each Howse of the Parliament under Section 24 of the Act Provided that on arequest from the Buteau in this behalf, the Central Goverament for reasons to be recorded in writing may exiend the date of submission of Annual Report to the Central Govemmeat by such period, as it may consider necessary. 6, Delay in submission of Anmal Report. Whenever thote is dcly in submission ofthe Anna! Report tothe Central Government, the Bureau shall also submit tothe Central Government a siatzment explaining the reasaus for delay along with the Annual Report, duly approved ty the Governing Council o: such other authority as may be prescribed by the Governing Couneilin this regard.
