Chapter 4 Light vehicle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system units and components

Introduction
Light vehicle fuel ignition, air and exhaust system units and components
This chapter will help to develop learners understanding of the construction and operation of common fuel, ignition, air and exhaust systems. This chapter covers the procedures that learners will need to know how to carry out when removing, replacing and testing systems for correct function and operation. This chapter is designed to provide the learners with all the knowledge and practical skills they will need to succeed. It will introduce the learners to the operating principles of light vehicle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust systems. It will help learners plan a systematic approach to fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system inspection and maintenance. The scheme of work is based on a suggested 10 week programme of 2 hour sessions but you may wish to modify this according to your learner or centre needs.

Chapter content
This chapter will cover the following topic areas
