Posting Student Work on the Internet Guidelines for Safety & Privacy The Blue Valley School District recognizes that technology and the Internet are important components to teaching and learning. These guidelines define the districts expectations for the safety and privacy of students and staff when publishing content to the Internet. These district guidelines govern how classroom and student materials are published to the Internet including: Student work, photos, and videos that include identifiable materials. Classroom photos, videos and coursework that include identifiable materials. Blogs, wikis, Internet posts and social networking sites. YouTube, TeacherTube and other streaming media sites. Guidelines: Only students first names will be used when publishing photos, videos or coursework to the Internet or other external sites. Published photos, videos and coursework should not contain the students full name or any other identifiable information. Students home address, phone number or contact information will not be published to the Internet or to other external sources. If replies to student work are appropriate, the sponsoring teachers email address will be displayed and not the students contact information or student email address. If a parent or guardian has completed the No Media Release form, student work, photos or videos will not be published to the Internet or to other external sources. All published content will align with the districts copyright and acceptable use policies.
