Dear Parent/Guardian, Your child has been referred for an assistive technology* assessment.

Assistive technology may increase your childs skills in the school environment. The Lincoln County School District Assistive Technology Team will complete the assessment. The process involved in this assessment may include some or all of the following: File reviews Observations in the classroom Teacher and parent interviews Motor assessment when appropriate Work samples Introduction to possible technology supports Brainstorm session Trials with technology systems

The time required to complete this assessment will vary depending on the needs of the individual child. Following the assessment process, the team will generate recommendations for the IEP team to consider. You are an important part of this assessment process, and your input is invaluable.
