Report of Parent Representatives Clara Piedrasanta and Cristina Hernandez Cristina attended the LD4 ELAC committee meeting. Parents were updated about furlough days, 5 for the 2009-2010 calendar year and 7 for 2010-2011 calendar year. The advisory committee must voice their opinions for the schools Master Plan for the following school year. The advisory committee should suggest strategies for improving English Learners. Budget Felipe Velez How are teaching positions decided? LASGS is normed at 365, which gives the school 11 teaching positions. Another teaching position is given to us for Class Sized Reduction. o In order to keep the same structure we have this year we need to purchase 3 more teaching positions. o We also need to purchase of technology position (Micro-Computer Support Assistant) to update computer operations and software on our computers for our students. How do we adjusting the budget to buy more teaching positions? o We need to use categorical monies to purchase 3 positions for the 2010-2011 school year. Funds will come from 7S046 and 7V094. o We need to use categorical monies to purchase a Micro-Computer Systems Assistant. Fund comes from 7S046, 7V094, 7S539 and from 7S536. Should we buy more teaching positions? o Reasons for purchasing positions. Reduce Class size Give more individual attention to struggling EL students

Provide technology to help CAHSEE Pass rates o Sacrifice for purchasing positions No monies to purchase clerical staff No attendance counselor Vote on Budget for 2010-2011 o Jeffrey Heilweil moves to pass budget. Clara Piedrasanta seconded the motion. SSC pass the 2010-2011 Budget unanimously.
