5 Verifying RIPv2 Configuration Lab Hand-out

Objective
Use Packet Tracer to complete the following skills Configure IP addressing for 2 routers Configure appropriate IP addressing on 2 PCs Configure RIPv2 on 2 routers

Scenario
This topology represents the simplest routed network, ideal for studying configuration of RIPv2.

Required Files
To complete this lab, you will need the following Packet Tracer Activity (.pka) files.

Step 1
Configure the following IP addresses on the routers and configure the clock rate of 56000 on the BHM router. Router GAD BHM Fa0/0 172.16.0.1/24 172.18.0.1/24 Serial2/0 172.17.1.1/24 172.17.1.2/24

Step 2
Configure both PCs with appropriate IP addresses.

Step 3
Configure RIPv2 with the appropriate networks, No Auto Summary, and FastEthernet 0/0 as passive on both routers.

Step 4
From PC0 issue a PING command to PC1. Was the PING successful? If not, troubleshoot the network.

Step 5
Issue commands on both routers to display the following:

1. The routing tables 2. The brief status of all IP interfaces 3. The parameters and current state of the active routing protocol process
