The riots in the UK in the summer of 2011 were for many a bolt from the blue exposing some

fascinating home truths about our society. Amongst the most surprising, was data on the riots which seemed to reveal an unusually high level of involvement of young people from all walks of life. This raises a poignant question - Is social exclusion spreading? The Westminster Debate, Supporting families after the riots and the role of family law, which takes place on Monday 12th December, 2011 in The House of Commons will look at how, in the wake of the summer riots, the family justice system can play a vital role in supporting families and children, and encouraging family values in todays complex world.
