The riots in the UK in the summer of 2011 were for many a bolt from the blue exposing some

fascinating home truths about our society. Amongst the most surprising, was data on the riots which seemed to reveal an unusually high level of involvement of young people from all walks of life. This raises a poignant question - Is social exclusion spreading? With more and more children feeling neglected as parents struggle to maintain a work/life balance, children are frequently left to fend for themselves in a world that is unfamiliar and daunting.
