A Brief History of High Jump

High jump was performed as early as the
Olympics in ancient Greece. High jump was first
recorded in Scotland in the 19th century with
heights of up to 1.68m. The world record now for
men is 2.45m and for the women it is 2.09m.
The Rules of High Jump

• You must leave the ground from one foot.
• If the bar falls before you leave the matt it is
a failure.
• You are disqualified after three consecutive
failures.
• You must not touch the ground or landing
area beyond the uprights without first
clearing the bar.
