Elective Course II: Acute Critical Care

2nd Semester, SY 2011-2012

I.

Course Description: This one concept of Elective II will lead to a better understanding of the principles and concepts, nursing management of critically-ill clients with acute biological crisis, and issues, updates related to the course. It is expected that the student nurse will able to do rapid assessment, setting priorities, rapid decision-making and appropriate nursing interventions that would use problem solving techniques & modify the outlined procedures according to their special operational techniques.

Credit Units: 2 units

III.

Time Duration: 2 hours/week (36 hours/semester)

IV.

Placement: 4th year nursing students

V.

General Objectives: At the end of the semester, the students will be able to apply the skills, knowledge & attitude in the care of the sick clients in any setting.
