When people say I like to write or I write, it means that they like to compose fiction or nonfiction. For example, a person may write novels or essays in his spare time. 3 Painting in this case means painting pictures to sell or for decoration. 4 Some people enjoy baking cakes and desserts and such things in their spare time.
Knitting and crocheting are similar in that both use yarn. Some people knit sweaters or crochet doilies in their spare time.
