HISTOPATHOLOGY CASE STUDY

Mark, a 22 year-old man was admitted at San Pedro Hospital last April 15, 2011 due to severe pain at his right lower quadrant, the patient was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. The patient underwent emergency appendectomy the next day, April 16, 2011. Last September 2008, patient was diagnosed with kidney stones or renal calculi. He underwent 3 sessions of extracorporeal shock wave. The patient denies allergies to any medications, foods or animals. The patient claims that he only suffered from two common childhood illnesses, chicken pox and measles, when he was a kid. According to him, he was completely immunized when he was a child as evidenced by scars on the patients left and right deltoid. The patient admits a family history of hypertension, according to the patient his father died of heart attack. Vital Signs Temperature: 37oC Pulse Rate: 80 bpm Blood Pressure: 100/80 mmHg Laboratory test Urinalysis color: Yellow, appearance: clear pH: 6, SG: 1.015, Albumin: negative squamous cell: + pus cell: 2-4/hpf bacteria: + CBC WBC 15.0 x109/L Neutrophil: 80% Eosinophil 1% Basophil 0% Lymphocyte: 15% Monocyte:: 4% Hemoglobin 154.0 g/L Hematocrit: 36.5% RBC: 5.67 x109/L Platelet count: 200 x103/L Chemistry- Creatinine 42.10 umol/L Sodium 137.70 mmol/L Potassium 4.29 mmol/L Random Blood Sugar 16.90 mmol/L X-ray demonstrate hard formed feces in the lumen of the appendix (Fecolith)

After the appendectomy, biopsy was done. State probable result.
