To all the Men and Women of the Republic, This past year has proven to be more trying than

any preceding it. The loss of an entire fleet at Sluis Van due to gross Incompetence and the increasing raids on our border worlds by rabbles of pirates made up of former soldiers of the Galactic Empire have convinced me that this Republic is not ready for the coming peace. As such, I am instituting a new modernization program for the Armed Forces.

A comprehensive plan was put forth by Admiral Ackbar some months ago, but it was ego fueled and full of major gaps in logic. As such, my program took his preliminary research into account, and has expanded upon it. Every starship role shall have a specialized ship, capable of fulfilling that role to its utmost potential while also being competent in any other role assigned to it. All roles in the Armed Forces shall receive an overhaul, with definitive hierarchies amd chains of command.

All fleets are also hereby redirected from home sectors to border sectors, to maintain our current borders until the fleet and all personnel can be adequately retrained, repurposed, and modernized, so that the mission of uniting the galaxy can fully become realized. Any civilian willing to donate their ships to the defense of the Republic will also be handsomely rewarded. Now is the time to fight, so that one day peace mat reign. For the Republic!
