A time line of Brother Branhams calling, his new birth and his baptism of the Holy Ghost.

By Bernard Cox
The reason why I want to present a time line of the highlights of Brother Branhams experiences with the Holy Spirit relative to his new birth and his baptism of the Holy Ghost is because there is great controversy surrounding the experiences; much of it the result of the contentions of the teaching of the prophet by one Rev. Lee Vayle as presented in his interpretation of the sermons on THE EXPOSITION OF THE SEVEN CHURCH AGES; who was commissioned to correct the grammar in the transcription from the taped sermons to book form a commission which I among others believe he overstepped. Contrary to popular belief, the prophet did become disenchanted with the manner in which the book was taking shape. Note the words of the prophet from the unabridged transcript of a recorded audio letter to Rev. Lee Vayle. The prophet all but disassociated himself from the book which had caused him some confusion regarding the teachings on the New Birth versus The Baptism of the Holy Spirit issue. He believed that the words that were in the transcripts that he was proof-reading were his own words; when they were in fact injected dogmas of Rev. Lee Vayle. Common sense dictates that the teachings in that book cannot annul what the prophet taught throughout his ministry. The prophet had no reason to believe that the words that he was reading were not the words that he spoke during the sermons in question. If you doubt this claim, you be the judge and analyse the book against the audio and unabridged sermon text.

E-18

Now, there was... Now--now look, Lee. Any of these things that I have injected here... We think the book is wonderful. So if--if it doesn't fit in, you think it would be unfitting for a man to read it in this way I've got it fixed out here, then omit it. It's your book, and I want you to write it. It's your opinion of

being in the meetings and--and what you've seen, and by tapes what you've heard, and so forth. And I think it's a going to make a grand masterpiece
for the meetings. I think it will be one of the greatest assets that we've had since I've been in the field, this book will be. And I--I'd like for it to be just as dandy as could be. Now, these things that I'm saying, my--my brother, is not to try to let you think that I know more about something than you do. But it's just in the--the spirit of-of better understanding, and--and fellowship, and... You know what I mean? . E-23 Now, and in the millennium, He will be Son of David, Son of David, 'cause He will set on the throne of His Father, David. And then in there, this writing that you said, "No one..." You want to say it in there that you'd heard me say this, why, all right. See? Even a simple glance into the sermons will quickly reveal that Satan has placed this topic high on his agenda of teachings to corrupt. You may ask why! The reason is because this is when and where the dividing line is. This is where Satan can deceive multitudes into losing their inheritance. 1

Allow me now to bring to your attention something of the contradiction as per what is written in the book in question and what the prophet believed. 144-2 SMYRNAEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.4 Now before we leave this subject I want to make myself very clear on what the Baptism with the Holy Ghost is according to the Word. It is not according to me, and it is not

according to you. It has to be according to "Thus we are falsely led. Amen.

saith the Lord," or

144-3 SMYRNAEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.4 To begin with you will notice that in my meetings when I have finished preaching an evangelistic service, or some teaching message, I cast the net and invite a response from the people. I ask them to come forward and receive the Holy Spirit. My Pentecostal friends, upon hearing me say this believe that I am inviting people to come forward to be baptized with the Holy Ghost because they are already born again. So when I invite those who are Spirit-filled to come and deal with those who have answered the invitation to receive the Spirit, these dear ones surge forward and deal with the people in such manner as to encourage them to yield to God and believe to speak in tongues. This has caused a great deal of confusion and I want to tell you exactly what I mean. I

mean for the sinner to come forward and be born again, which is to be baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Ghost which is exactly what took place at Pentecost when the church was launched. In other words, to be born of the Spirit is to be truly baptized with the Holy Ghost. It is

one and the same.

The prophet never did teach that as you will see by quotes following and by his very own documented experience of being Born Again, The New Birth and Being Baptized by the Holy Spirit, in other words, him being sealed by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. 144-4 SMYRNAEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.4 Now I realize that it is going to be confusing for a moment here, as most people know that I was ordained a Baptist preacher and I have steadfastly declared that the Baptists have missed it for saying you receive the Holy Ghost WHEN you believe, for that is not so. You receive Him "SINCE you believed." Acts 19:2-6. "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance saying unto the people, that they should believe on Him Which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came upon them: and they spake with tongues, and prophesied."

There it is. Paul asked, "Have you received SINCE, NOT WHEN you believed." And there is a great difference there, for it is AFTER we believe that we receive. Ephesians 1:13 is an exact word repeat of what happened in Ephesus according to Acts 19, "In Whom ye also trusted, AFTER that ye heard the Word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation; in Whom also AFTER that ye believed (not when ye believed), ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." Now here is my point. Too many of our modernists and even our fundamentalists (so-called) believe unto salvation at a certain specific time which in many cases is called "making a decision," and that has been called receiving Christ or being born again. Now to receive Christ is to receive His Spirit. To receive His Spirit is to be born again. To receive His Spirit is to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Amen. These folks believe. That is wonderful. But they stop there. You receive the Holy Ghost AFTER you believe. It has always been that way and always will be. Now, the prophet often taught that a good deception will always convey lots of truth but somewhere in the presentation dwells a statement or a word that deviates from or perverts the truth just as it was in the Garden of Eden. All it takes is one word added or one removed or one simply manipulated to create the illusion of ALL BEING THE TRUTH. Now, analyze these statements made in the book The Exposition of the Seven Church Ages. Read it again and then scroll forward to the quote taken from the countdown sermon and try to make sense of the two as far as unity in the faith is concerned. Are both statements conducive to unity of one doctrinal faith? Do what you like, you cannot have a drunk-sober man and insomuch, you cannot have a true false teaching come from the same mouth except the speaker was in error, he was anointed of a false spirit, or his revelation was changed and then changed again towards the end of his ministry. If that is the case, then I would like to know why God, Who is an unchanging God and His truth never changes, would do such a thing? I put it to you that the quotes above, taken from the book The Exposition of the Seven Church Ages are not the words of the prophet. He never said these words or anything of the like in the sermons from which the book was complied. These are the dogmatic injections of the man, Doctor Lee Vayle who saw fit to insert his beliefs into the book. Does that reduce the book to Thus saith the Lord, the prophet and Dr. Lee Vayle; and be careful, they do not all agree? Yes it does. Some of it is of the Lord, some of the Prophet and some of Dr. Lee Vayle and I have made it my business, the Lord willing, to expose the dogmatic injections of the good doctor, who was placed in a position of trust, for the purpose of correcting grammatical errors and nothing else. That may just hurt a little bit; but so far, my suspicions of the fact have been verified in several serious topics including the issue of the SEVEN THUNDERS; a topic that will be addressed in another document. This is what the prophet believed regarding the issue on the New Birth versus The Baptism of The Holy Spirit... Allow me to use a typical example for explanatory and for purpose of exposing the devils wicked and perverse ways in the hope that some, who do diligently seek to experience the body change, will be enlightened to a subtle deception which the devil has pulled on you and most are not aware of it. Let us look at the simple statement of Jesus in the Bible as explained to Nicodemus of the need to be born again. Jesus again said, JOHN 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed 3

from death unto life. Now, we have the prophet of God come on the scene and God anoints him to explain the experience explicitly so that even children can understand it. The prophet said in the sermon

COUNTDOWN_ JEFF.IN V-11 N-3 SUNDAY_ 62-0909M 37........ And the new birth, as people talks that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the new birth. Now, that's wrong. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is

different from the new birth. The new birth is when you're born again. But the Holy Ghost is when power comes into that birth for service. That's exact. See? The Holy Ghost is--baptized into the Holy Ghost.
Contrary to the prophet who says The baptism of the Holy Ghost is different from the new birth, the Rev. Lee Vayle says, (as you saw above in the quoted text from 144-3 SMYRNAEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.4) that

It is one and the same. So! One or the other is wrong! One is a deceiver who
injected his own contentious dogma, none of which was uttered in the sermons by the prophet; into the transcripts of the book under scrutiny, and the other is an ordained, vindicated prophet of God. The question begging to be answered is this, Who do you believe?
The prophet continues

COUNTDOWN_ JEFF.IN V-11 N-3 SUNDAY_ 62-0909M 38 The new birth, you have the new birth by being--believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. See? By having faith and accepting Him as your Saviour, that's birth (See?), because you've passed from death unto Life. Now, if you want to back that up, take St. John 5:24, "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Everlasting Life." See, he's got Life because he believes. And that same group had to go to Pentecost to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Exact. Holy Ghost is power for service. And the new birth, as people talks that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the new birth. Now, that's wrong. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is different from the new birth. The new birth is when you're born again. But the Holy Ghost is when power comes into that birth for service. That's exact. See?
Now, that is perfectly as per the scripture and as per the anointing of the Author and the revealer or interpreter of the Word; the Holy Ghost. Anyone who cannot see that hasnt any light within them and must go to the cross and be converted and accept the atonement which was offered for their unbelief for without the Holy Spirit, no-one can call God; God. In other words, he will never be able to understand the Word except the Holy Ghost reveals it to them. Did you notice that the prophet went so far as to repeat himself on this issue; surely for the sake of clarity on the subject. Note also the date of this quote. Could it be that this is what the prophet believed before he read the transcripts of the book that contained the controversial text above? The ardent and diligent student of this message will have noticed the influence that the injected words of Rev. Lee Vayle had on the prophet, (on this and other topics) through the last 4

three years of his life. Remember that Gods prophets are human, that they make mistakes and that the are not always privy to all the wisdom of God and that God doesnt always correct his prophets simply because He allow us to be tested by His Word expecting His Bride to discern the truth from the lies by the power of the Word seed within their souls.

59-0611 THE.TIME.OF.DECISION_ CHICAGO.IL THURSDAY_ E-11 And the time had come .............. You see, God don't make all of our decisions. And there's many times that God doesn't tell His prophets just what to do, because they have to make the decision. If

there is no decision that we have to make, just wait every move on God, then there is no overcoming on our part. And sometimes, they make the wrong decision. God's anointed prophets makes the wrong decisions, and many times are deceived.
THE.TRUE.VINE.AND.A.FALSE.VINE_ MACON.GA TUESDAY_ 55-0607 E-79 But God, in His prophets and in His seers and so forth, absolutely knows that these things as God will reveal it. There's many things He don't reveal to His servants. Look at--look at old Jacob setting on a stoned. Setting up there and brought his boy's coat back... And you knowed he was a prophet. Brought his coat back and said, "A beast killed your boy." That was wrong. He didn't know the difference for forty years. Look at Isaac, setting up there total blind, and here come Jacob up and said, "I'm Esau." He blessed him, for Esau--and a prophet... Look at the--this Elijah, setting there and--and here come the Shunammite women and fell down by him like that. Said, "God's troubled her heart and kept it from me." They don't know all things. They just know as God will let them know. They're not infallible people.

The Bible said, "Elijah was man subject to like such passions as we are," his up and downs, and differences.
If you are having trouble believing that God would allow such, then explain how the Lord allowed the prophet to preach the following false teaching as we would expect, under the anointing of the Holy spirit THE.TEN.VIRGINS.AND.THE.HUNDRED.AND.FORTY.FOUR.THOUSAND.JEWS_ JEFF.IN ROJC 425-492 SUNDAY_ 60-1211M 61 Now, we... The 6th chapter deals with the--with the white horse, which was the Holy

Spirit went forth conquering, to conquer. Then come the pale horse, Death, and hell followed it.
And each one of those riders on the horses...

Now, "after these things," after this great destruction. First

went forth was the Holy Ghost across the earth, "conquering and to conquer"; then come the one in the
great famine time, "a measure of wheat for a penny, two measures of barley for a penny, and so forth, but don't hurt My oil and wine"; and then on down till He opened these--these seals. It was years before the Lord correct his prophet regarding this issue. There were many times that the prophet offered his understanding on a topic, which was and is often misinterpreted as the anointed Word of God; THUS SAITH THE LORD. The Bride has an inherent duty to adhere firmly to the revealed Word for the minute. That is the reason that the New Birth occurs at the moment that a soul accept the sacrifice of Calvary unto him/herself; inviting the Holy Spirit into their lives. It is this somewhat small portion of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God that immediately gives forth everlasting life; for the purpose, among others, of leading and guiding the soul unto all truth. JOHN 16:13 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Having confirmed that, let us continue with our study THE.MARK.OF.THE.BEAST.AND.THE.SEAL.OF.GOD.2_ LONG.BEACH.CA FRIDAY_ 61-0217 E-17 Now, the Holy Spirit is the Seal of God. Now, if you say you believe and haven't received the Holy Ghost, then God's never recognized your faith yet. That's right. Because the Seal is the recognition that God has completed and finished His work in you (That's right.), that He recognized, sure. Someone said, "Why do you make it so loose, Brother Branham, saying, Saint John 5:24?" That's the beginning of the Spirit. That's right. I believe that a man, as soon as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, it's a portion of the Holy Spirit. When you're sanctified, another part of the Holy Spirit cleans you. Then you're filled with the Holy Ghost. Right. Now, "But he that heareth My words, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Eternal Life." There's only one type of it; that's God's life. Which ties perfectly with the following quote! THIS.GREAT.WARRIOR.DAVID_ CHICAGO.IL TUESDAY_ 55-0118 E-44 He knowed where he was at. Hallelujah. Every David setting here tonight, you're positionally in Christ. God has confirmed it. Election, calling, anointing, placing: He elected you and called you. He elected you and called you. Then He anointed you with the Holy Spirit, and now, He's placed you in the body of Christ, each one of these Davids. A comprehensive defining of the above mentioned spiritual events experienced by the pilgrim will be presented at the end of this document but what must be taken into account here and now for the understanding of this study, it should be documented here and now what is the meaning of the term, BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST AS UNDERSTOOD BY THE PROPHET. Without going into great detail here, please receive and ponder upon these quotes THE.KEY.TO.THE.DOOR_ JEFF.IN V-12 N-6 SUNDAY_ 62-1007 137 You believe unto Eternal Life, and are born again

by your faith. Jesus said in St. John 5:24, "He that heareth My Words and believeth on

Him that sent Me, has Everlasting life," not the Holy Ghost, just has Everlasting Life. He's born into the family of God, and then baptized into the Holy
Ghost, with

power of the intelligence of faith to believe the Gospel and to put It to work and make It act right. Amen. Then he acts like a son of God. Then he can cast out devils. Jesus said, "These signs
shall follow them (See?): In My Name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, drink deadly things." See, he receives power by

the Holy Ghost to do these things.

THE.KEY.TO.THE.DOOR_ JEFF.IN V-12 N-6 SUNDAY_ 62-1007 141 "You shall receive (What?) power (Acts 1:8) after

this the Holy Ghost is come upon you. You shall receive power." (Not "you'll be born again.") "You'll receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you. Then you're My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judaea, and Samaria, unto the uttermost parts of the earth." See? You receive power after you receive the Holy Ghost. But first you must receive the Holy Ghost, and that is the power of God (See?), to manifest and demonstrate. You're--you're... As

you was a human, and learned to talk, and walk and do the things a human does; when you're baptized with the Holy Ghost, you're given power to act as sons and daughters of God. No wonder people act and do the way they do today; they've never been filled with the Holy Ghost. If they would, they'd act different. They claim they have, but Jesus said, "By their fruits you shall know them." So how can you do it? You see? It's just all scrupled up. See? But come back to the facts.
THE.BREACH.BETWEEN.THE.SEVEN.CHURCH.AGES.AND.THE.SEVEN.SEALS_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 63-0317E 77-3 {66} Now, while we got the Scriptures open, let us... See, the Holy Spirit here Itself is a Seal. The Holy Spirit is a Seal. And a Seal signifies what? A finished work. The Holy Spirit being a Seal to the individual... And to that individual, when he receives the Holy Spirit, then his time of groaning is over (See?), because it is a finished work. THE.INVESTMENTS_ BEAUMONT.TX SATURDAY_ 64-0314 139 Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Orthodox, whoever you are, that claim to be Christians, why don't you do the same? You believe on Jesus Christ and become a member of the church, why don't you go up to Pentecost, get your dividends, the power of the Holy Spirit! Them policyholders drawed it. You can, too, if you believe it and really believe it. 7

GOD'S.PROVIDED.PLACE.OF.WORSHIP_ LA.CA V-18 N-2 SUNDAY_ 65-0425 95 Let's find out what the Bible says now. We find, in First Corinthians, the 12th chapter, the Bible said, "By one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body." We're baptized into the Body of Christ, by one Holy Spirit. We're not shook in, we're not joined in, we're not baptized with water in. We are baptized with the Holy Ghost, into the Body of Jesus Christ. 96 How long does it last when you get in There, until you misbehave yourself? Ephesians 4:30 says, "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed until the day of your redemption." Argue with Him, not me. That's what It says. I'm reading It. All right. "You're sealed until the day of your redemption," until the day that Jesus comes for you. Then think of it! Let us follow the timeline of the prophet as he progresses from heathen, through his New Birth and on to the sealing of his soul by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. 1909 April 06; the Pillar of Fire appears in the cabin as the prophet was born.

Date of the following experience is unknown but he was a little boy! He related this to his congregation in the sermon - COMMUNION_ TUCSON.AZ V-8 N-4 SUNDAY_ 65-1212 47 I used to remember, as a little boy... Pop and mom, they're gone on now to their rest. And them days they were sinners, there was no Christianity in our homes at all. And, oh, my, drinking, and parties, and carrying on; it made me sick, I'd take my--my lantern and my dog and go to the woods, to stay all night. In the wintertime I'd hunt till the party was over, maybe daylight in the morning. Come home, wouldn't be over, I've laid on top of a shed and sleep, waiting for daylight to break. (I hope I'm not holding you too long. But knowing...) Sitting out in the... on--on the creek bank, and I'd sit there and look around at nighttime. 48 Then I'd think of how that times, then being out there in the summertime, get my sticks and put them down for a little windbreak, where if it rained; lay there and have the poles sticking in the water, fishing; my old coon dog laying there. I'd say, "Looky here. You know, last winter I camped right here one night, I built a fire right here when I was waiting for my old dog here to tree, and I had a fire here. It was froze five inches deep in the ground. But, little flower, where did you come from?" See? "Well, and where'd you come from? Who come out here and planted you? And what hothouse did they bring you out of? Or-or what about it, where'd you come from?" See? That little flower, I'd say, "Why, it was froze, and everything, and I built a fire on top here. Besides the freezing element, there was a heat element laying here on a big old log where I burned you. And yet here you are, and you're alive. Where'd you come from?" 49 What was it? There was another William Branham. See? A little spot of Eternal Life down there, from the--the--the genes of God, the Word of God that was placed in there. Each one of you can think of similar things. See, It was working. 50 Then look up to the trees, and I think, "Leaf, I seen you fall off last year, and why are you back there again? Where'd you come from? What brought you here?" See, It was that Eternal Life working in the body. 51 Now, then one day as I walked on, that Voice talking, "Don't never smoke, drink, so forth." And the young fellows and all got older. See, there was Something moving. 52 But yet all at once I looked up, and I said, "I'm not the son of Charles and Ella Branham. There's Something calling." Like my little eagle, "I'm not a chicken. There's Something 8

up yonder, somewhere. O Great Jehovah, Whoever You are, open up! I want to come home. There's Something in me, calling." 53 Then I was born again. That little Life was laying there, the life of water was poured upon It, then It begin to grow. Now, that old life was forgiven, put in the sea of God's
forgetfulness, to never be remembered against me no more. See? Now we stand justified (as though we never had sinned) in the Presence of God.

1923

At the age of fourteen, he sustained a serious wound in a hunting accident. He spent seven months in hospital. Though the Lord called at his heart, the boy still didnt respond to Gods call! At age 19, he decided to go out west to work on a ranch. In his heart, he knew that he was running away from God. While he was away, Edward his brother died. Excerpt from A man sent from God reads You can imagine the shock this was to the lad as he realized that never again would he see his brother alive in this world. Events began to move swiftly from then on. Each time he resisted God, tragedy or sorrow of some kind would come to him. When he yielded and obeyed God, the Lord would bless and prosper him. Undoubtedly, that same lesson must be learned by every living person. Would that we all could learn by what others suffered, rather than by our own bitter experiences. And, When I realized the news of my brother's death, for a moment I could not move. It was the first death in our family. But I want to say that the first thing I thought of was, whether he was prepared to die. And I made ready to come home for the funeral. When Rev. McKinney of Port Fulton Church, a man who is just like a father to me, preached his funeral, he made mention that "There may be some here who do not know God; if so, accept him now." Oh, how I grasped my seat; God was dealing again. Dear reader, when He calls, answer Him. Brother Branham, now going on 21 years of age, while working for the Public Service Company of Indiana, was seriously gassed in an accident at work. This caused the acidic condition in his stomach which plagued him for many years. Wrongly diagnosed, he underwent an appendectomy. He did believe in prayer at that time, just as many today believe; that God is there to help them only when they need Him. He insisted on being awake, and to watch, during the operation; so the procedure was done under local anesthetic. Brother Branham recalls the incident as follows... I wanted someone to stand by me that knew God. I believed in prayer but could not pray. So the minister from the First Baptist Church went with me to the operating room. When they took me from the table to my bed I felt myself getting weaker and weaker all the time. My heart was hardly beating. I felt death upon me. My breath was getting shorter all the time. I knew I had reached the end of my road. Oh, friend, wait until you get there, then you will think of a lot of things you have done. I knew I had never smoked, drank, or had any unclean habits, but I knew I was not ready to meet my God. If you are only a cold, formal church member you will know when you reach the end that you are not ready. So if that is all you know about God, I ask you right here to get down on your knees and ask Jesus to give you that experience of being born again, like that He told Nicodemus about in John, chapter 3, and oh, how the joy bells will ring--Praise His name. It began to grow darker in the hospital room, as though it were a great woods. I could hear the wind blowing through the leaves, yet it seemed a great way off in the forest. You have 9

1927

1929

probably heard a puff of wind blowing the leaves, coming closer and closer to you. I thought, "Well, this is death coming to take me." Oh! My soul was to meet God; I tried to pray but could not. Closer the wind came, louder and louder. The leaves rustled and all at once I was gone. It seemed then that I was back again a little barefooted boy, standing in that lane under the same tree. I heard that same voice that said, "Never drink or smoke." And the leaves I heard were the same that blew in that tree that day. But this time the voice said, "I called you and you would not go." The words were repeated the third time. Then I said, "Lord, if that is you, let me go back again to earth and I will preach your Gospel from the housetops and street comers. I'll tell everyone about it!" Notice that this wasnt his new birth. This was the result of the measures God had taken to chastise the child into submission. Since he was a little boy, (when he was born-again he had run from the presence of God) I redirect your attention to the previous quote (COMMUNION_ TUCSON.AZ V-8 N-4 SUNDAY_ 65-1212 52 But yet all at once I looked up, and I said, "I'm not the son of Charles and Ella Branham. There's Something calling." Like my little eagle, "I'm not a chicken.

Then I was born again. That little Life was laying there, the life of

water was poured upon It, then It begin to grow. Now, that old life was forgiven, put
in the sea of God's forgetfulness, to never be remembered against me no more. See? Now we stand justified (as though we never had sinned) in the Presence of God.) It wasnt even his call. It was his awakening to the fact that without God, he was going to die and be judged worthy only to perish in hell. What you are about to read or hear, is his conversion and call. You will notice that he began to seek God, contrary to what some would teach that man never seeks God, but God seeks man. That, in essence is the truth because, God had been calling all souls all the time, but with our focus again on the boy, William Branham, God had been calling him from his childhood; and with the call continually falling on deaf ears, Gods calling had been rejected. But, once the young man had been shocked into action, he did start seeking God. CONVERSION AND CALL I started out to seek and find God. I went from church to church trying to find some place where there was an old-fashioned altar call. The sad part was I could find none. One night I became so hungry for God and a real experience that I went out to the old shed back of the house and tried to pray. I did not know how to pray then so I just began to talk to Him as I would anyone else. All at once there came a light in the shed and it formed a cross, and the voice from the cross spoke to me in a language I could not understand. It then went away. I was spellbound. When I came to myself again, I prayed, "Lord, if that is you, please come and talk to me again." I had been reading my Bible since I had been home from the hospital and I had read in I John 4, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God. I knew that something had appeared to me, and as I prayed it appeared again. Then it seemed to me that there had been a thousand pounds lifted from my soul. I jumped up and ran to the house and it seemed as though I were running on air. 10

Mother asked, "Bill, what has happened to you?" I replied, "I do not know but I surely feel good and light." I could not stay in the house any longer. I had to get out and run. So, there we have the conversion and the renewing or rejuvenating of the new birth of the young prophet. There is no way, that one can dispute that a portion of the Life of God had entered into the young prophet for even the scripture testifies that no man can call Jesus the Christ except by the Holy Ghost and we are about to witness this prophets baptism of the Holy Ghost. Watch! I guess one would consider the moment of rebirth as that moment when one accepts the atonement and invites the Lord, (Holy Spirit) into ones life and begins to commune with said Spirit, drawing from it solace, council, guidance, kinship. Note that there is no guarantee that that same born-again soul will not falter or backslide as did the prophet; he was but a little boy lacking much understanding of the reality of his situation. What such backsliding entices, (and this applies to all born-again children of God) is the gentle, (sometimes harsh) persuasion of God to bring you back to Himself again. He does not save you only to lose you. Some will determine to reject the call having being deceived by tempting spirits, and spirits of discrepancy. If those souls are predestinated to eternal life, they will eventually respond to the persistent call from their Father. I knew then that if God wanted me to preach he would heal me, so I went to a church that believed in anointing with oil, and I was healed instantly. I saw then that the disciples had something that most of the ministers do not have today. The disciples were baptized with the Holy Ghost and so could heal the sick and do mighty miracles in His name. So I began to pray for the baptism of the Holy Ghost. One day about six months later God gave me the desire of my heart. He spoke to me in a great light telling me to preach and to pray for the sick and He would heal them regardless of what disease they had. I then started preaching and doing what He told me to do." There we have it. Three separate experiences. The calling or conversion and then the new birth from death unto life everlasting, and then unto the baptism of the Holy Ghost; being set aside for service with power. I want to point out here that where the prophet was given his commission, which was that If you can get the people to be sincere and believe nothing will stand before your prayer. That is the exact same commission that the Bible gives every believer. See what the Lord Jesus said on this subject MARK 9:23 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. MATTHEW 21:21-22 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. JOHN 14:12-14 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 11

13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

From time to time people have asked me if I have received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. This has always struck me as a strange question. For it is impossible that any Holy Ghost gift should function freely, unless the individual who possesses the gift should have received the Giver also. Important Note; The excerpts above, which depict the time-line in question, were written and published in 1950 by Gordon Lindsey. I would like to inject here that the prophet was not fully aware, if at all aware, of the scripture... ROMANS 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. The very first reference to this teaching was in the sermon... EARLY SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES in HAMMOND INDIANA SUNDAY_ 52-0713A E-17 Look. All through life those things come and went. Finally the calling of--to the ministry. Now, I want you to notice. Before I was a Christian, confessing Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, that gift was there just the same. When I was a sinner, an alien, far from the commonwealth of God, that gift was there just the same, saw visions just the same way. God, Who is my Judge, that I stand before today, knows that's the truth. Was it I merited it? No, sir. And the Bible absolutely confirms and backs that up to be God's way of doing things: Gifts and callings are without repentance. Then when someone told me about Jesus and His love for me, and I knew I realized then I was a sinner, an alien from God, I accepted Him as my personal Saviour. And then, God led me around to some folks that taught me in the Scriptures, and I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Then It begin to come to me all the time. We are all aware of the manifestation of the gifts that God manifested through the prophet as a child; while he was still a sinner and hadnt yet received the giver. Why am I saying this? Im telling you this simply to illustrate the danger in misconstruing the Word by not being totally dependant on God for His unction, leading, guidance and revelation. Im telling you this to enlighten you to the fact that even Gods prophets are fallible, and are even sometimes ill advised. How then is it that we, mere men, take the handling of Gods Word without due respect and in that, fall prey to false doctrines and dogmas. Would it not be safer to simply read Gods Word and believe it as it stands and await God to individually quicken His Word to the believer in His season? But, that is not the way God works. He has placed in the church offices and chosen to perfect His Bride by the foolishness of preaching. We are far too susceptible to the influences of Satan. We cannot afford to be beguiled by Satan as was Eve. And, insomuch, we cannot afford to fall as did Adam; because of the love for a denominational, formal church system. We have to remain loyal to the one sovereign body. Im referring to the mystical body of the original restored, Pentecostal, (Spirit anointed) Bride of the Word; Jesus. She will be without blemish, spot or wrinkle. She will be adorned with the unadulterated Word of God. She will be totally yielded to the leading of the indwelling Holy Ghost. She will be a perfect reflection of Her Husband and she will behave in a manner conducive to a woman whose desire is to Her husband.

With a view to justify what I have presented in terms of the New-birth, Id like to further present to you the essence of what Brother Branham shared with the Jefferson Tabernacle on the question of the Holy Ghost in the series on the Holy Ghost recorded from 16th. December 1959 through 31st. December 1959 wherein he decided to omitted recording the sermon on How to get or receive the Holy Ghost and how do you know that you have It. The sermon dated the 18th. December 1959 was in fact recorded, and the tape was taken by Br. Billy Paul before his Father could get it to secure his stipulated non-distribution. It is still not available to the public; but Billy Paul is on record saying that the essence of the sermon can be found in the sermon entitled, A Super Sense recorded on the evening of the 27th. December 1959. Thus I would like to present to you my reader that which I found to be relative to this subject from that sermon. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 53 God gave those senses, but they're given to you as a gift. And it depends on how

you, what you yield these senses to, will be the way that your life is controlled:
the way you yield those five senses, you're... What you see, what you hear, what you taste, smell, or feel, whatever those senses are yielded to, they will dominate you. And we are grateful to God that we have the five senses, but by no means was these five senses given to you to guide you. They were given to you for earthly contact. But there was given you the sixth sense, and that sixth sense is--belongs only to the Christian. And you cannot have this sixth sense until you become a Christian, is the only way that you can ever have any more than the five natural senses for the natural person. The sixth

sense is better known, to the Christian, as faith. It's the one that governs and guides you, and it is superior to all the other senses. It's a superior to all of the senses, the
other five senses. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 55 Now, I would not say that because that we receive the sixth sense that the five senses are no good no more. Yes, they are. Those five senses were given to you by God, and they are to be used. But when the five senses act contrary to the Word of God, then they are lying. Now, the sixth sense cannot lie. It's a super sense. And that's what I want to speak about. This morning I spoke on: "A Super Sign," and tonight on "A Super Sense." A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E

And the super Sense is the Holy Spirit, the faith of God that dwells in you. And if you'll let the five senses be yielded to the sixth
57

sense, it'll guide you and bring all the other five senses under control of that super sense. For it's so far above the natural sense, as the spiritual man is above the
natural; it's as far and as high as the heavens is above the natural man and his five senses. It makes you believe things that you cannot see. It makes you act where you do not think the five senses would ever think about it. The devil can get into these five senses and lie to you, but he cannot touch that super sense. That's far beyond his reach. That come from God. It's called faith. Faith is that great thing. 13

A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 58 And the five senses does not control the sixth sense, but the sixth sense controls the five senses. The super sense controls the natural senses. And the--the five senses is see, taste, feel, smell, hear. And the super sense is something that'll make you believe God's Word, for that's the only thing it'll speak about. And it'll make you believe for things that you can't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear, 'cause it'll take God's Word. And it will deliver that Word to you, and make you walk contrary to any other thing there is but God's Word. By faith, faith does it. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 59 Now, in giving this illustration of the senses, the natural man is borned with these senses, so they are nature-given senses. And that's really only thing he'll ever know about it in his intellectual thinking. He can only think as a man; he can see as a man; he can understand as a man; he can hear as a man; but when he becomes governed, or

regenerated, or we would call it borned again, then that sixth, super

sense takes ahold of him. And in doing so, that super sense raises him up into a spot to
where he has faith to believe things that he could not hear, things that he could not see, understandings that he could not understand. He believes it anyhow, because he's governed by that sixth sense, that super sense. Oh, how marvelous it is to know it, and to think how simple it is to believe it. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 60 Now, you cannot believe it until you are regenerated. The Bible said that no man can call Jesus the Christ, only by the Holy Ghost. We went through that this last week. And it's been such a stumbling block, especially to the Pentecostal believing people, when they hear me say that. Jesus said in Saint John 5:24, "He that heareth My Word and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Eternal Life." Eternal Life comes from God alone. "And no man can say Jesus is the Christ, only by the Holy Ghost." You're only taking what somebody else said, what you learned by intellectual, what you learned by the natural five senses. But when the sixth sense comes in, the Holy Spirit, It takes away all the reasonings of these six senses--and five senses, and lifts you up into that sixth sense, to make you believe things that you can't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. It does something to you. Then you can say Jesus is the Christ, because you have witnessed it; not what intellectual teaching has taught you, but what you've experienced. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 62 "What is the sixth sense to do then, Brother Branham? Why do the sixth sense come? The sixth sense come for this reason. Now, the sixth sense is the faith, the super sense. Now, if... The sixth sense come for this reason only; that was to make the five senses in you deny anything that's contrary to God's Word. That's what the sixth sense is for.

The Scripture speaks of casting down reasonings.

The--the s--fi--five senses will... You can reason, "Well, now, why should this man, and why should..." But the sixth sense doesn't see that at all. It's so far beyond it; it's so much higher than it is, until it don't even have any reasonings at all with it. "We believe it." It's far beyond anything that the five senses would have to say about it. Now, get ready for a healing

service. See? We believe it. You walk by that sixth sense; you talk by that sixth
14

sense; you live by that sixth sense; you die by that sixth sense, and rise by that sixth sense: that super sense, something that's in you, that's different from what the natural man is.
A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 66 The natural man only has these, and they're all right if they can be brought in submission to the sixth sense. If the natural mind says, reads the Word of God and says, "That is the Word of God," it's speaking the truth. But if it reads, and say, "It's not all the Word of God, or--or, It was. It's something... It was one time, but It isn't now." Then that sixth sense comes in and says, "He's the same yesterday, today, and forever." See? That's the difference. That's why that so many people fail to be healed. They are trying to come with an intellectual conception. They say, "Oh, I--I do this, or I believe this and so forth." But if that sixth sense is saying that, then there's nothing will ever shake them from that sixth sense. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 68 The sixth sense is come upon the human being to make them deny anything that's contrary to the Word of God. Any symptom, any symptom that's contrary to God's promise, the sixth sense says it isn't there. If the Christian that's borned again... And the first thing you know, some infidel, unbeliever, gets around to the Christian and said, "Now, looky here; there's no such a thing as that Holy Ghost. You're just mistaken in that. You're crazy, if you believe such stuff as that. There is no such a thing as it." That sixth sense goes right straight to work. "Let me show you, in the Bible, where you can't receive the Holy Ghost. And, you see, I can show you where the disciples got It, but--but..." "Yeah, well," you say, "look," the sixth sense will point you over and say, "but He said, 'The promise is unto you and to your children.'" "Well, that meant their children there; that didn't mean for you. It isn't for you." But that sixth sense knows better. Why? It's already in you. They said it too late. You've already received It. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 74 People who taught that there is no such a thing as the Holy Spirit, don't know what they're talking about. Like that boy once peeling an apple, and was asked by an infidel, debating a meeting. He said, "What do you want, what do you want up here?" He said, "I want to ask you a question." While he was eating the apple and enjoying it, a very simple, sort of a, looked like a delinquent person with the hair hanging in his face, and one tooth out in front, and an old, dirty overall jacket on, he said, "Just one question I want to ask you." The infidel had just said, "There is no such a thing as God. It's all emotion. There's nonsense to it, is all it is." And the boy said, "I want to ask you a question, mister. Is this apple sweet or sour?" He said, "Well, how do I know? I'm not eating it." He said, "That's just what I thought," walked right back. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 79 How do you know, when you haven't tasted the Lord? How do you know, when you've never received the Holy Ghost, whether He's real or whether He is not? How do you know whether there's faith and power? How do you know there's not joy unspeakable and full of 15

glory, when you've never tasted to see it? The sixth sense leads you to that. The sixth sense declares that to you. There's no intellectual powers at all will ever bring that to you. The intellectual powers will reason and say, "Why, it's psychology. It's something this a way, and it's emotion with the people." But when the sixth sense comes in, it denies all of those things and moves a person straight into the bosoms of God. "He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and a Rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 81 By faith, by faith, Abraham; by faith, Isaac; by faith, Jacob; all by faith. It's the sixth sense that does it. Sixth sense denies all symptoms, all symptoms, anything contrary to God's Word, any feeling, emotion. Somebody say, "Oh, well, I was prayed for, but I just don't feel any better." Sixth sense would never stand still for that. Sixth sense would say, "It's a lie. I feel better. I'm getting well. God said so; that settles it. Amen. God said so." Sixth sense only feeds on the Word of God. A.SUPER.SENSE_ JEFF.IN V-20 N-7 SUNDAY_ 59-1227E 84 That super sense, it's super, above the senses. It's a greater sense. It's a faith. It's a power that stirs and drives. Amen. It's something that makes you do things that you never thought you would do. It's the sixth sense, the super sense. You get prayed for. Say you got--got a crippled hand and you get prayed for, your hand, you come up there and you believe that God is going to heal you. The pastor prays for you; you go back. The old natural man will say this: "You don't feel any different in that hand. You're no better than what you ever was." But the sixth sense comes along, and said, "That's a lie. You've been prayed for; that settles it." Amen. As promised at the beginning of this document, following you will find a comprehensive defining of the Spiritual events in a pilgrims life I must at this point in time, list the events of experiences a man progresses through and appoint definitions thereto with a view to presenting a legitimate structure which dovetails with the Word of God and with this blessed message. This may become difficult for I perceive that the prophet was somewhat at a loss for understanding these events himself at times especially after proof-reading and re-reading the transcripts of the book, THE EXPOSITION OF THE SEVEN CHURCH AGES by Rev. Lee Vayle.

These are the stages, as taught by the prophet, of the process the Bride of Gods earthly journey. 1. Election; by predestination from before the foundations of the world. 2. Calling; as in the Holy Ghost enticing the sinner unto repentance. 3. Anointing; as in the new birth at the time of acceptance of the atonement. 4. Sealing; as in setting aside for service with power by the baptism of the Holy Ghost. 5. Adoption; as in the public acceptance of the son or daughter, by the Elohiym, as a proper son or daughter to their ordained eternal inheritance. 6. Manifestation of the sons and daughters of God; as in the body-change to immortality.
16

7.

Rapture; as in the completion of Gods divine plan of choosing & receiving His Bride from the earth unto Himself to be wed in heaven to the Bridegroom; Jesus.

Lets define individually, the three types of believers; and determine the stages of their journey based upon the Word of God ; the Bible.

A Time-line
<===============================I I===================> I I EVERLASTING LIFE ETERNAL LIFE I I *l--------------------------<===========================l======I=I==l=================== I Time I *I---Lake of Fire----I

Legend:
======== l=====l * Represents eternal life. The life of God without beginning or end. Represents the time man, (after his fall) existed on earth. +- 6,000 Years. Adam Flood = 2000 years. The Flood Jesus advent = 2000 years and since Jesus ascension present = +-2000 years. Represents Judgment Day. Beginning of everlasting life within eternity. Represents the sojourn of Gods elect, Gentile Bride; the true Word manifesting believer. JOHN 14:12 The unbeliever simply lives his life and dies, is judged and sentenced to be consumed in the Lake of Fire.

===I I=== *

1. The Unbeliever; This individual never accepts the truth, and is never born again, and will be sent to the Lake of Fire after the White Throne Judgment. He is not elected by predestination. He is however called but he will never receive it as truth and therefore he rejects it. a. Calling; Even Cain had a calling. Every human, is offered an opportunity to receive the Word of God for their age and thereby are given an opportunity to accept it or reject it. GENESIS 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. GENESIS 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? GENESIS 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_ JEFF.IN COD SUNDAY_ 59-0628E 400-180 The woman's Seed, the woman's Seed which was Christ... Mary brought forth the Christ. And the serpent's seed which was Cain come down to Judas Iscariot. There was both Jesus and Judas incarnate right there: God and the devil. On the cross of Calvary there was four people dying. There was a thief on each side of Jesus, and Judas hung himself on a sycamore tree, which is a cross: "Cursed is he that hangeth on a tree." There was one thief said, "If Thou be the Son of God, take us down."
17

The other one said, "Lord, we do justly; we getting punished; but You've done nothing. Remember me when You come into Your Kingdom." Jesus said, "Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise." There was Jesus, the Gospel Preacher, preaching on the cross. There was Satan going back to hell, taking with him the seed of the serpent, the unbeliever. There was God going back to heaven taking with Him a repented sinner, the seed of the woman. Certainly. It was not the seed of the devil; it was the seed of the serpent. And the serpent had a seed; the Bible said it had a seed. And it still exists today, the seed of the serpent, so much... Now, you can ask me another question on that. If we just had time, I got all the words for you, and... There is no further journey prescribed for the unbeliever. He simply rejects the Word for his hour. This man is serpent seed. The calling experience is further explained under the heading of the believer. 2. The Make-believer; He/she may receive and believe the truth for his/her day and be born again, and receive a genuine experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost; either on their spirit or on their soul: but looses it. This individual can, and some will, eventually be cast into the Lake of Fire. Among these are the foolish virgins. Of these who are alive at the time of the rapture, will proceed into the Tribulation and be persecuted by the ecumenical council; the World Council of Churches which is controlled by the Red Dragon, the Beast. They are martyred for the sake of their confession and come to the White Throne Judgment and are judged by the Lord Jesus and His Bride. These are the minority! The majority will succumb to the wiles of the devil and will deny their faith and still die and come to the White Throne Judgment and are judged by the Lord Jesus and His Bride; these are cast into the Lake of Fire which is prepared for the devil and his servants; hence, Get thee hence ye workers of iniquity, I didnt even know you. a. Calling; as in the Holy Ghost enticing the sinner unto repentance. JOHN 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. JOHN 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: JOHN 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. MATTHEW 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, MATTHEW 22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. MATTHEW 22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. b. Anointing; as in the new birth at the time of acceptance of the atonement. JOHN 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
18

c. Sealing; MATTHEW 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. And... LUKE 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: LUKE 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. LUKE 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. LUKE 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. ACTS 2; 38 Repent each and every one of you and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the Holy Ghost... Though the prophet makes it clear that the scripture declares that some will receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost which is their seal unto the day of their redemption, and that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the setting of the believer aside for service with power, he does also concede that; of these will be cast into the Lake of Fire. 3. The Believer; Only the true Believers, them who overcome all things unto the end, and were elected unto eternal life from before the foundations of the world are among these. They are the Bride of Jesus. I say were because this was predetermined before the great I AM even spoke the first creative Word. He had seen all things from His first thought, to the final manifestation of events on the earth; and had noted the names of those who overcame all temptations and deception throughout all the ages in the Lambs Book of Life. It is these in whom He had a Word seed placed at their birth which was quickened unto life and manifested its fruits in its life for its season. God did not simply decide, I want this one and I dont want that one. That would be unjust. Just as God had seen before Esau was born, that he disregarded his birthright and Jacob would do whatever it took to gain the inheritance; so He predestinated Jacob unto eternal life even though he was a shyster. The fact was that he loved God and his life proved it. a. Election; by predestination from before the foundations of the world. EPHESIANS 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: EPHESIANS 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, b. Calling; See above under Make-believer... c. Anointing; See above under Believer...

d. Sealing; as in setting aside for service with power by the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. JOHN 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: He breathed upon them the promise yet they still had to go to the upper room to experience the coming of the power. ACTS 1:8 But ye shall receive
19

power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ACTS 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: ACTS 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: ACTS 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ACTS 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. e. Adoption; as in the acceptance of the son, by the Father, as a proper son of inheritance. ROMANS 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, (adoption of sons)* to wit, the redemption, (a releasing effected by payment of ransom; redemption, deliverance, liberation procured by the payment of a ransom) of our body. EPHESIANS 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: EPHESIANS 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, EPHESIANS 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. EPHESIANS 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; EPHESIANS 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; EPHESIANS 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: EPHESIANS 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: EPHESIANS 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: EPHESIANS 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. EPHESIANS 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, EPHESIANS 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. THE.BELIEVER'S.POSITION.IN.CHRIST_ CHICAGO.IL SUNDAY_ 55-0116A E-51 O God, our Father. We are grateful to Thee this afternoon for Jesus, how that You took Him up there on Mount Transfiguration and was transfigured before them; You changed Him. And Your Voice said as the adoption, "This is My beloved Son; hear ye Him." And, God, we're trying our best to Him and follow Him in everything that we do or say. Send Him into the building just now, Lord, put a fresh anointing on every minister here and every laity here, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, whatever they are, Father. They're here because they love You. And we're groaning, waiting for that time of adoption. And we believe that one of these days the Holy Spirit will move in, not

with a new birth, for we've received that through Christ, but You'll adopt Your Church then. Notice; that Br. Branham had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and was yet still awaiting his adoption; proving that the experience of the baptism of the Holy Ghost is not the adoption. f. Manifestation of the sons and daughters of God; as in the body change to immortality. ROMANS 8:19 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. ROMANS 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, ROMANS 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. ROMANS 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And II CORINTHIANS 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. II CORINTHIANS 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: II CORINTHIANS 5:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. II CORINTHIANS 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. II CORINTHIANS 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. II CORINTHIANS 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: II CORINTHIANS 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) II CORINTHIANS 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. And I CORINTHIANS 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. I CORINTHIANS 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1 CORINTHIANS 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, I CORINTHIANS 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. I CORINTHIANS 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. I CORINTHIANS 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. THE.MESSIAH_ SHREVEPORT.LA TUESDAY_ 61-0117...........And in Genesis 1:26, when God made man, He made him a god, because He gave him a dominion, and he had rulership. He had power over the birds of the air, the cattle, over the winds, the waves, the--the fishes of the sea, everything. He had dominion over everything. He was a ruler, anointed a ruler, because he was in the likeness and in the image of God with an earthly domain. That's why the Bible says the earth is groaning, crying, waiting, for the manifestation

of the Sons of God. The world is waiting for the man to come back into his right estate. IT.IS.I_ GRANDE.PRAIRIE.AB WEDNESDAY_ 61-0517............................God above us in the Father, God in--with us in the Son, cleansing His way, condescending, coming down, making a way for me; to get back. And bring His people back to manifested sons of God, like they had them in the garden of Eden. The whole world's a-groaning and waiting for that hour for the manifestation of the sons of God.
