I am writing in relation tg the assessment of claims against Telstra by some
of its former customers and contractors which you had requested last year.
The assessment, which was recently conducted by the Department of
Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, considered nine
separate disputes and the avenues that remain available to resolve these
disputes.
The Department has provided me with its report on the assessment and I
have encloses an overview of the assessment process and findings.
I am providing each of the nine claimants who participated in the process
with the report on their particular case, as well as the overview. I anticipate
.that if any of the individual claimants 'wish you to have a copy of their

particular assessment they will provide it to you direct.
I "vill now be making direct representations to Telstra on behalf of the nine
individuals who participated in the process.
I note that your office is making arrangements with my office for me to
meet with some representatives 0 the former customers and contractors.
