ABOUT THE CO MM ISS IO N:

Pursuant to the City Charter, the City Council has established a Districting Commission, consisting of nine members (one appointment per Representative District, and one at-large appointment by the Mayor). The Districting Commission is an advisory body, which will make recommendations to the City Council concerning adjustments of the boundaries of the Districts, to insure substantial equality in the District populations based upon 2010 U.S. Census data. All changes to the boundaries must comply with the constitutional principles and laws governing voting rights of the U.S. and Texas.
