    Activating People for Disease Prevention and Lifestyle Change through Empowerment (APPLE)

    The project is a community based research project to develop and pilot a weight-control and diabetes prevention intervention for Bangladeshi women immigrants living in the Bronx. The project will be carried out as collaboration between Albert Einstein College of Medicine; two community-based organizations: the Westchester Square Partnership (WSP), a non-profit organization dedicated to health and community empowerment in the Bronx South Asian community; and the Friedman Diabetes Institute.
