a semi-enclosed coastal body of water, which has a free connection with the open sea, and within which sea water is measurably diluted with freshwater derived from land drainage.

The Estero De La Reina is situated along the historic and narrow street of Escolta, between Plaza Santa Cruz and Burke Street. This Estuary connecting to the Pasig River is surrounded by banking and financial communities as well as slums.

The estuary suffers greatly from the neglect of the citizens. They have been continuously dumping and polluting the area that causes problems

With the aid of the MMDA and cooperation of the citizens, the estuary should be treated and decontaminated to serve its real purpose which is to provide other ways of transporting goods.

Establish a better and safer settlement for the families residing along the estuary, for they, too, contributes growth of litter. It is exceptionally risky to dwell in this area specially in times of typhoons and disasters.
