It details what the new government planned to do and how it was supposed to be run. This speech is important in knowing what the new government would be like and the result of the revolution. It provides important information about the revolution, which is in part because of the older communist system. This source helps to show the modern impact of the Russian Revolution. McDonald, David. Personal interview. 20 Dec. 2011. This was an interview conducted by me on Professor David McDonald of University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was a very important interview because he could clarify anything I did no understand and he could answer my research question. Stalin wrote to one of his political friends. It is very important because it details about how Stalin was persecuting his political enemies, what he was planning to do with Russia, and how he was sentencing people to Siberian labor camps. This is a law case of one of the Moscow Trials, the trials where many were unfairly persecuted and were tortured to give testimonies. This law case shows why the trials were so unfair and what they did to the people. This document is important in understanding the negative social impact of the revolution because of persecution and unfair trials. USSR Anthem (1944 recording). Guide-guru. N.p., n.d. I used this song because it was a the military anthem for the Soviet Union during World War 2, and it contributed to the military effects that the revolution had page because it gives a militaristic atmosphere. This is a political cartoon about the lasting effects of the Russian communist revolution. It shows that the old leaders that were raised under the teachings of Stalin are reluctant to let the newer generation of thinkers take over Russia. This diary details important events in the war and reasons the Russians lost so much, like the fact that they were

surprised and a lot of their planes were destroyed on the ground. This diary also provides my project with important pictures on the war, such destroyed Russian planes.

This is a website detailing on the collapse of the Soviet Union. It has multiple pages showing different reasons the economy collapsed in Russia. This source supplied me with important background and reasons why the economy collapsed. Garza, Hedda. Trotsky. N.p.: Chesla House Publishers, 1986. Print. This is a biography about Leon Trotsky, one of the main people involved in the Russian communist revolution. He was the leader of the red army and a friend of Lenin. This book was the most useful source because it supplied me with lots of background information on the revolution because it was about one main leader, so it shows the different stages and also how Stalin took over and persecuted people, like Leon Trotsky. arctic. The movie shows how these people are affected by the Russian communist revolution, such as that communists come and demand that they accept the teachings of Lenin. This is a movie/story (originally a book) about a doctor who falls in love with a political activist and is caught up in the Russian communist revolution. This movie details the hardship and fighting between the reds and the whites in the revolution and provided my project with the difficulties of the revolution and the social impact. Watkins, Thayer. IT supplied me with information about the Soviet economy, the cold war and the economic collapse of the soviet union due to lots of military spending, and perestroika and what happened after the collapse. This is an article on Wikipedia about the casualties of world war 2. The graphs provided my project with total casualties for a country, military and civilian deaths, and percentage of the total population dead. This source helped to show that the Russians lost the most men in world war 2 and shows the military impact of the Russian communist revolution.
