The outline of the lecture:

1. The Bloomsbury Group and its first text written by Strachey. 2. Virginia Woolf: Her life and literary career. 3. The stream-of-consciousness technique in V. Woolfs works. 4. The symbols in V. Woolfs novels 5. Mrs. Dalloway: V. Woolfs first novel. 6. To the Lighthouse: V. Woolfs masterpiece. 7. The Waves: a novel beyond novel.

The objectives:

1. To teach the students the new tendencies in the early 20th century English Literature. 2. To determine the role of Virginia Woolf in the development of Modern English Literature. 3. To make students aware of the importance of The Bloomsbury Group in the early 20th century literature. 4. To develop students conscious approach to the study of Modern English Literature 5. To show the importance of the course in teaching foreign language skills. 6. To help the students broaden their outlook on the 20th century English Literature and develop their creative thinking. 7. To enrich students knowledge of Virginia Woolfs works and their main characters.
