A Cemetery and Settlements of the Late Tripolye Culture near the Village of Cunicea (Floreti District, Republic of Moldova).
The article brings into account the material from a late-Tripolye cemetery and some settlements, recently discovered in the surroundings of Cunicea village, Floreti district, Republic of Moldova. The preliminary analysis of gravegoods from the two investigated burials shows that the cemetery can be dated with the Chirileni phase, which is an
intermediary stage between late-Tripolye Vyhvatinczy and Hordineti sites, characteristic for the forest-steppe zone
between Prut and Nistru. Up to date, this is the first publication of a Chirileni cemetery in the region. At the same time,
analogies for some ornamental elements from Cunicea are to be found in tumuli complexes, which are situated quite
far to the east, in the North Pontic steppe zone. If further investigations substantiate our cultural and chronological
interpretation of the cemetery, this could provide important data for a chronological reevaluation of some phenomena, bound with the distribution of Hordineti pottery in the steppe zone. It is also worth mentioning that a ceramic
agglomeration (pit?) containing earlier pottery of Vyhvatinczy type was located in the same quarry where the burials
were discovered. Solving this situation, namely the determination of the stratigraphical relationship between the
burials and the agglomeration could serve to a better understanding of the regions final Eneolithic micro-chronology.
Numerous questions raised by the material from the burials, as well as the cemeterys good state of preservation,
provide strong reasons for the necessity of stationary archaeological excavations of the complex.

O necropol i aezri din etapa tardiv a culturii Cucuteni-Tripolie de lng s. Cunicea (raionul
Floreti, Republica Moldova).
n articol sunt prezentate materialele, ce provin dintr-o necropol i de pe cteva aezri noi din faza tardiv a
culturii Cucuteni-Tripolie, recent descoperite n mprejurimile satului Cunicea, r-n. Floreti, Republica Moldova. Analiza
preliminar a inventarului din cele dou complexe funerare investigate a artat, c necropola poate fi atribuit fazei
Chirileni, intermediare ntre grupele Vhvatini i Hordineti, ce sunt caracteristice pentru Tripolianul trziu din silvostepa Pruto-Nistrean. La moment, este prima necropol de tip Chirileni, publicat n spaiul respectiv. n acelai
timp, analogii unor forme de decor ale vaselor din Cunicea se gsesc n complexe tumulare, aflate departe spre
est n regiunile de step din spaiul Nord-pontic. n cazul, dac investigaiile ulterioare vor demonstra veridicitatea
atribuirii cultural-cronologice a necropolei, acest fapt va furniza date importante pentru reevaluarea cronologic a
unor fenomene, ce in de rspndirea ceramicii de tip Hordineti n zona de step. Menionm i faptul, c n cariera
unde a fost descoperit necropola a fost cercetat i o aglomerare de ceramic (groap?) de tip Vhvatini, aparent
mai timpurie dect inventarul celor dou morminte. Clarificarea acestei situaii, anume a relaiei stratigrafice dintre
morminte i aglomerare, ar putea duce la o mai bun nelegere a microcronologiei eneoliticului final din regiune. Multiplele ntrebri, provocate de materialul din necropol, ct i starea bun de pstrare a ei, argumenteaz necesitatea
efecturii unor investigaii arheologice staionare n Cunicea.
