    ASSIGNMENT 1. Isnt meaning to say that an object at temperature of 2000c is twice as hot as one at 1000C? No. Energy appears in many forms, including thermal energy, or the energy associated with heat. Heat is internal thermal energy that flows from one object of matter to anotheror, more specifically, from a system at a higher temperature to one at a lower temperature.

    2. Why is thermal expansion of water as unusual or anomalous? Water is unusual in that it expands when it freezes. There are other substances that also do this, but it's not very common. The point of maximum density for water at standard pressure is about 277 K...

    3. A glass container may break if one cart of it is needed for cool more rapidly than adjacent parts.Explain. When glass is heated, it expands (like most materials). If only part of it is heated, it expands while the rest of it doesn't. That causes stress on the glass, which, if strong enough, will break it. The best way to heat or cool glass is slowly so the temperature has time to equalize throughout the container.
