All of your hard work this year has paid off and you have been asked to put it to good use! The History Broadcasting Company (HBC) has had some recent success with their hit programming including Cribs: Absolute Monarchs Edition, Two and a Half Men (and a Guillotine), and Beccarias Law and Order and the network would like to continue to offer historically-based originally programming that will appeal to todays audience. You have been chosen to complete such a task! However, before a television show is premiered the executives at HBC have asked you to create a pilot episode which is a 4 - 7 minute episode which gives the network executives a taste of what they can expect from your dynamic original programming. Some 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. guidelines from the network executives Must be between 4 7 minutes Cannot be overloaded on daytime talk shows Must include proper vocabulary Must include props and/or costumes You will be assigned a chapter and have lots of choice as to what to create Must be a decent review of the textual material developed from Must be completed by Thursday January 12, 2012 Must also include a typed two-page synopsis of your television program, explaining your show and why your group made the choices they did

You will be utilizing the free app Vimeo* for taping, editing, and releasing the pilot episode for a greater audience viewing. In addition to your role as a collaborator with the pilot episode and synopsis Producer (ensure that the project is completed within the time period given [end of day Thursday]) Director/Script Supervisor (ensures that the story is compelling with a clear beginning, middle, and end - feeling more like Modern Family than a textbook) Screenwriter (ensures that all of the above elements to be included in the narrative, are included in the narrative) Cinematographer/Distributor (responsible for learning about the app (Vimeo) to be used and submitting it for grading) Grading 30 - Overall Quality of Video 20 Proper Use of Vocabulary/People 10 Groups ability to stay on task in class 10 Role-Based Assignments 30 Error free two-paged synopsis 10 Bonus!
