SHERWOOD MERRYWALKERS MEETING MINUTES MARCH 5, 2012 The March Merrywalkers meeting was held at the BBC in Sherwood

d on 3/5/2012 and called to order by President Jane Leider. In the Treasurer's absence Jane reported a bank balance of $1,250.85. with upcoming expenditures as follows: $200 Sherwood YMCA $50 REI (Easter Egg Walk prize) $50 New Balance (Easter Egg Walk prize) $50 Ice cream cones (Easter Egg Walk prizes) Merrywalker business cards and AVA start cards will also be purchased in the near future. Lynette Waller reported a club membership of 51 paid walkers. Jane plans to send out an updated membership list in March. Plans for the Easter Egg Walk on March 31st were discussed. Jane will send out a work schedule soon. MaryAnn's Basket Brigade will meet at her house on March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. to assemble the baskets for this walk. Walkers will each get an Easter egg containing a prize notice which they can present at the gift table after the walk to redeem their prize. Discussion followed regarding the best way to keep people together in Merrywalker-sponsored group walks so that slow walkers are not left behind. Jane welcomes any suggestions for making future events enjoyable and successful for walkers of all speeds and distances. Jane illustrated how to use the Merrywalker website (sherwoodmerrywalkers.org) to find various types of information, along with details about existing and upcoming walks. All members are encouraged to check the website frequently. Jane also explained the difference between group, YRE and event walks. There was no further new or old business, so the meeting adjourned.
