DESIGN SITUATION December 2012. You have just concluded Year 12 and are preparing for the challenges that life after school will present. With tertiary education in mind, either TAFE of University, you are going to require a fast, efficient and reliable computer to support your studies. DESIGN BRIEF You are to design an interactive PowerPoint display which identifies each component needed to create your ideal computer and justify why you have chosen each piece of hardware. As well as selecting parts, you will need to find approximate costs for each component.

Your PowerPoint will include the following: SLIDE 1 Title Slide First slide of the PowerPoint. Should be eye catching and include your name and the task name Build your own computer SLIDE 2 Navigation Menu A contents page with hyperlinks to allow for navigation to all areas of the presentation. The name of each slide is to be used for the menu.

SLIDE 10 Budget Create a table using MS Word or Excel with the following headings.

Hardware items, Software items, Description, Source, Item Cost, Final Cost (at the bottom of the table) Include all Hardware and software items necessary for your PC in the table. Include the Source of your costs for each item. Provide a copy of a current Advertisement from a computer retailer for a system of similar specifications to the one you have designed. Describe reasons why there may be a price variation between this system and the price shown in the budget for your system. (50- words)

TECHNICAL INFO Your assessment task must be submitted online and titled Surname_Assessment1. You must include fonts found from DAFONT that have been manipulated in Photoshop. Also there must be evidence of manipulation of graphics used in your presentation. You must include a bibliography / reference for ALL information sources for this assignment.
