(MS) is a Fortune 50 company that provides a variety of health care services across the Malaysia. MS has more than 300 fulltime employees and more than 50 part time employees. MS recently updated its strategic plan -> Key goals Reducing internal costs Exploiting new Web based technologies Why? - To help employees, customers and suppliers work together - To improve the development and delivery of its health care products and services Below is one of the many ideas that the Information Technology Department has developed for supporting these strategic goals. Recreation and wellness Project: provide an application on the current intranet to help employees improve their health. This application would include the following capabilities: a. Allow employees to register for company-sponsored recreational programs, such as soccer, softball, bowling, jogging, walking and other sports. b. Allow employees to register for company-sponsored classes and programs to manage them manage weight, reduce stress, stop smoking and manage other related issues. c. Track data on employee involvement in these recreational and health management programs d. Offer incentives for people to join the programs and do well in them (eg: incentives for achieving weight goals, winning sport team competitions, etc) Managers at the Malaysia Sihat INC. (MS) selected you as the project manager for the above project. The schedule goal is 6 months to complete and cost is about RM100, 000.00. You had previous project management and system analysis experience with the company and you are an avid sport enthusiastic.

Task: 1. Summarize the above proposed project in a simple table format suitable for presentation to the top management. 2. Include the name for the project, identity how it support business strategies 3. Assess the potential financial benefits and other benefits of the project 4. Provide your initial assessment of the value of the project. Write your result on a one or two pages memo to top management, including back up information and calculation. (20 marks) 5. Prepare a project charter for the Recreation and Wellness Intranet project (15 marks) 6. Document your approach for collecting requirements for this project 7. Include at least five requirements in it. (20 marks) 8. Developed a work break down structure for the project. Break the work to level 3 or 4, as appropriated. (20 marks) 9. Use the WBS you developed in task 4 above to begin creating a Gantt chart for the project. (15 marks)
