As a class we will be creating an ABC Book of Endangered Animals that includes locator maps, "fast facts," and explanations about why those animals are endangered. You will be given a letter and you must do some research on an endangered animal beginning with that letter. You are to create 2 book pages and you must answer the following questions:

What does it look like? Provide a picture or drawing of the animal, and describe what physical characteristics may help and/or hurt the animal in its survival. Where does it live? Provide a map (remember BOLTSS) and colour in the area where the species can be found. Provide a brief description of the animals habitat. Include a "fast fact". What was the most interesting thing you learned about the animal? Why is the species in danger? The answer must explore the reasons why the species has become endangered. Some of these may include natural causes (if any), economic causes (trade, hunting, poverty, habitat loss), environmental causes (habitat loss, other introduced species, chemical or other pollution, etc.) What, if anything, are we as people doing to protect the species? Describe laws , government or non-government groups that are trying to save the species or describe why people are not helping the species at all. You must include a list of the resources you used. (books, websites)
