Installation of I03 Interface in IHADSS Aviator Helmet

Essential Tools for Interface Installation

Position the IHADSS Helmet

Position the IHADSS helmet on the bench with the visor facing upward and the rear of the helmet on the bench surface.

Locate the earcup on the right side of the helmet where the IHADSS cable interfaces with the harness inside the helmet.

Prepare Earcup for Interface Installation

Remove the foam inserts from inside the earcup.

Detach the earphone with a small screwdriver and remove from earcup.

Locate Position of Hole for Interface

Locate the interface position on the earcup surface inch from the helmet radio harness grommet.

Punch location for drilling.

Drill inch hole through earcup.

Install Interface in Earcup

Insert brass pins through the drilled hole.

Insert the grommet into the hole so that fits tightly, completely closing the hole.

Attach the interface to the earphone

Insert the brass pins of the interface into the earphone and tighten the earphone screws.

Loosen the set screws in the brass pins with the allen wrench provided.

Insert earphone pins and tighten the set screws.

Earcup Reassembly

Reinsert foam inserts in earcup and position the earphone inside.

Replace and position the earcup in the helmet.

Position and Secure Interface to IHADSS cable

With one of the three zip fasteners, attach the interface to the IHADSS cable. Locate this first fastener just behind the connector against the hardpoint on the interface.

Tighten the fastener. Space out the remaining two fasteners along the interface and tighten securely. There should be no movement when the cable is secured.

Completing the Installation

Secure the fasteners and trim the remaining excess plastic for a smooth appearance.
