Sigmund Freud, the father of psychology, developed a theory about psychoanalysis which asserts that human behaviors are

motivated by sexual and instinctive drives known as the libido (Freuds theory). The existence of these libidinal urges will eventually be displayed as aggression. An example by Freud was a boy at the age of five who develops an intense sexual desire for his mother. The desire for his mother causes the boy to reject and display aggression towards his father. In this case, the father is viewed as a competitive rival and the goal they both try to attain is the mothers affection (Freuds theory). - Paraphrase
