Teaching Experience August 2011 April 2012 Year Long Student Teaching Assignment Rolling Meadows Elementary Student taught an amazing 4th grade class of 23 ethnically diverse students with special needs including: English Language Learners, ADHD, speech impediment, and developmental delay. Rolling Meadows Elementary is a Title I school in the Granite School District. Planned and taught Language Art instruction using Imagine It! Math instuction using Everyday Math. Assessed literacy using DIEBELS and DAZE, math daily formative assessment with Math Boxes and summative assessment from unit, YPP & Acuity. Created and implemented yearlong service learning project with 4th graders doing weekly reading for and with special needs Kindergarten class. Created project that raised $500 for class sets of Informational text for the 4th grade team. Completed third-term report card grades, comments and held parent-teacher conferences. Successfully integrating technology into this eMints classroom with the use of Smartboard technology and PC interactive activities. Assisting students in using a variety of programs from Edmodo (safe student teacher networking site) to Tagzedo (word cloud art). Taught weekly lesson rotation and collaborated in planning with 4th grade team. March 2011 April 2011 Fine Arts Integration Beacon Heights Elementary School Collaborated, created and taught lessons designed to integrate both traditional (language arts) and non-traditional (fine arts) subjects into the classroom. Partnered to creating culminating activity demonstrating the subject of Aesops fables with art, dance, theater and music. Student performed for their parents, teachers and classmates. Jan 2011 April 2011 Higher Steps Tutoring Edison Elementary Trained in reading program developed at the University of Utah for student grades level 3 and up. Provided one-on-one tutoring for a 5th grader, twice a week with the Higher Steps reading method. Prepared lesson plans, with advance word study concepts, assisted reading of new material, tracked fluency, site word recognition, rate and accuracy daily. September - Dec 2010 Next Steps Tutoring - Edison Elementary Trained in reading program developed at the University of Utah for students grades levels K-3. Provided one-on-one tutoring for a 3rd grader, twice a week with the Early Steps reading method. Prepared lesson plans, assisted reading of new material, word study, tracked fluency, site word recognition, speed and accuracy daily. Skills Next Steps & Higher Steps Reading Program Microsoft Office Tools: Exchange, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point both PC and Mac.
