Correlation between Self Concept and Academic Achievement for nursing students in Faculty of Nursing and allied health

sciences University of Pelita Harapan class Entry to Practice batch 2008 Nurses must perform a great capability in clinical fields; on the other hand, nurses have to have knowledge to support that. The level of knowledge could be obtained from learning in university, and GPA will be the standard to measure the level of knowledge. One of the factors that impact GPA is self concept, and after analyzing the data, self concept has found in nursing students, either the positive or negative one. This research is conducted to find the correlation between self concept with academic achievement, and using quantitative research with cross-sectional design. Data collection has done in one time with respondent who are nursing students batch 2008 in university of Pelita Harapan. Data analysis used chi-square test. The result of this research is there is no correlation between self-concept with academic achievement, it can be seen from p value = 0, 648.
