MODELLING AN AIR COMPRESSOR USING BOND GRAPH

Objectives:

Representation of a typical reciprocating air compressor schematic model using concepts which is familiar also for electrical engineers! Proposing an electro thermal analogy for modelling the heat transfer for the finned dry piston.

4. Conclusion

Bond graph offers easy to understand and flexible, visual representation of the system. Electro thermal analogy can be a suitable approach for complicated, 3D geometries with transient behaviour like our compressor, since it is easier to work with electrical circuit equivalents.
