Jeds Exhibition Reection

(Exhibition Reection 4- Its Over.)

Exhibition has denitely been a bumpy ride, but I am sure everyone had a great time. All groups: Shark Finning, Smoking, Packaging, Water Wastage, Invasive Species, Animal Habitats, Homeless, Less Fortunate People, and Bullying, all have something unique to them that is in their display. Did you enjoy Exhibition? Exhibition started off on Wednesday, (May 2nd). On this day, only the parents came, so it was sort of a practice run for all of our groups. The next to days, though, were the real deal. We had jobs and everything. It was all systems go, and everyone did fabulously. My group, the Shark Finning group, (Jed Baxter, Oskar Tullberg, Alvin Liu, and Natasha Lui) had lots of fun activities, such as Clay Shark making, (kinesthetic), Petition signing, (intrapersonal), and Video watching, (visual/ spacial and intrapersonal). Our petition was a big success, gaining approximately 1,000 more signatures, giving us...... Hold on a sec...... Here it is, 3,362 signatures. You may think that that is a lot of signatures, but we need 10,000 to ban Shark Finning at ofcial functions. Its a work in progress. Our Clay Shark making was an even bigger success! Almost every single person did this, although, some visitors were disrespectful and made Puffer Sharks (really just a ball of clay) or just goofed off. I found this a little frustrating, because we worked really hard on it. The Video didnt really work that well. No one was really interested in it. Luckily, Natasha knew of a different Video, and visitors were captivated by it. At least they were happy! One big major downside to Exhibition comes after it is already done- exhaustion. Everyone was so tired after it was over, we barely had enough energy to eat! I actually lost my voice once or twice, because I kept yelling: Make Your Own Endangered Shark with Clay! At the top of my voice while holding a sign that said exactly that to try and bring in some potential Shark Finning learners.

I really enjoyed Exhibition. I felt as if most things went the way I liked. I think that people learned a lot about Shark Finning. I hope everybody had loads of fun, because I did. Now that we are moving on to our new unit, Space, I am grateful that Exhibition is nally behind us, but also a little sad too, because I really enjoyed presenting. I can only hope that the future fth graders have a blast in this incredible roller coaster ride through Exhibition.
