PROPER POSITION OF FINGERS o You must cover the three (3) upper holes with the three (3) middle big fingers of your left hand, and cover the four (4) lower holes with the four (4) fingers of your right hand. The upper holes are located near the mouthpiece of the flute. Make sure you cover the holes flatly with the palm and the tip of your fingers in order to produce the right sound.

CORRECT POSITION OF THE MOUTH o Position the mouthpiece of the flute between your upper and lower lips while holding the flute diagonally downward. CORRECT BLOWING o Use the tongue to blow the air into the mouthpiece by pronouncing the word TWO. One note one blow. By blowing gently, youll sound the notes belonging to the first octave C, D, E, F, G, A, B and C2. And by blowing a little bit harder, youll produce a higher pitch of the same notes belonging to the second octave C2, D2, E2, F2, G2, A2, B2 and C3. To play the sharps and the flats, please see the fingerchart.
