The US students proficient decreased.

It can see that 32 percent of US public and private school students in the class of 2011 are deemed proficient in mathemathics, and placing the US 32nd among 65 nations that participated in the lastest international tests administered by the OECD. And also form another test, majority of US students above the proficiency mark. The percentage proficient in the state of New York is equivalent to that achieved by students in debtridden Porugal and Spain. California, has math proficiency rate of 24 percent. The problem is caused by each state that set its own profeciency standard, and most have set their standards well below the world-class level. As a result, most state proficiency reports grossly inflate the percentage of students who are proficient.
