333 NSE Faulty

Description NSE is the management entity on the NS layer. This alarm is generated when the Gb interface is abnormal. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 333 Critical Fault

Possible Causes The Gb interface is abnormal.

1000 LAPD OML Fault

Description The data link layer protocol between the BSC and the BTS is the LAPD protocol. To enable the communication between the data link layers of the BSC and the BTS through the LAPD protocol, the LAPD link should be established. The link carries operation and maintenance information is called OML, or LAPD_OML. This alarm is generated when the BSC detects the LAPD_OML disconnection between the BSC and the BTS or the BSC detects that the handshake with the BTS times out. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 1000 Critical Fault

Possible Causes The transmission device or transmission link between the BSC and the BTS is faulty. The Abis interfaced board of the BSC is faulty. The BTS experiences power failure. The TMU board or E1 lightning protection board of the BTS is faulty

21002 Broken LAPD Link

Description This alarm is reported when the LAPD link cannot receive any message from the BTS or the PCU at the peer end. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 21002 Critical Fault

Possible Causes The network is unstable and the intermittent link is caused. The E1 cable is faulty. The BTS or the PCU at the peer end is faulty.

21205 Board Fault

Description This alarm is generated on the SCU in the GMPS when the communication between the board and the SCU in the GMPS is interrupted. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 21205 Critical Fault

Possible Causes If the GOMU is faulty, the possible causes are as follows: A pair of GOMUs is configured for the BSC, but only one GOMU is operating. A pair of GOMUs is configured for the BSC, but on the operating standby GOMU, the OMU software is stopped or the startup of the OMU software fails. A pair of GOMUs is configured for the BSC, but the standby GOMU is reset. A pair of GOMUs is configured for the BSC and the OMU software on the operating standby GOMU runs normally, but the communication link between the active GOMU and the standby GOMU is faulty. If the board other than the GOMU is faulty, the possible causes are as follows:

HUAWEI BSC6000 Base Station Subsystem

If all boards in a subrack are faulty, the Ethernet cable between this subrack and the GMPS may be disconnected. If all boards in the TC subrack are faulty, the OML on the Ater interface may be disconnected or the Ethernet cable between the main subrack and the extension subrack may be disconnected. If an individual board in a subrack is faulty, the board may be manually removed from the subrack, switched over, or reset. If an individual board in a subrack is faulty, the board is reset because hardware or software fault occurs on the board.

21206 CPU Fault

Description This alarm is generated if the active CPU fails to detect the status of the standby CPU on a board that runs multiple CPUs, indicating that the CPU is not available. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 21206 Major Fault

Possible Causes The communication between the CPUs of the service boards is abnormal. The CPU is faulty.

21584 APS K1/K2 Mismatch Alarm

Description This alarm is reported when the ASP protection section uses different channels to send the K1 byte and to receive the K2 byte. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 21584 Major Fault

Alcatel-Lucent Proprietary and Confidential

HUAWEI BSC6000 Base Station Subsystem

Possible Causes This alarm is reported when the duration that ASP protection section uses different channels to send the K1 byte and to receive the K2 byte exceeds the five seconds.

21551 Ater OML Broken Alarm

Description This alarm is generated when the OML between the GEPS/GMPS and the GTCS is disconnected. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 21551 Critical Fault

Possible Causes The boards in the GTCS on the Ater interface are reset or faulty. The physical line carrying the OML on the Ater interface is faulty.

20087 High BER over the E1/T1 Link

Description This alarm is generated if the BSC detects that the bit error rate on the E1/T1 port is always greater than 5E-4 in one minute. This alarm is cleared if the BSC detects that the bit error rate on the E1/T1 port is always smaller than 1E-6 in one minute. Attribute Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type 20087 Major Fault
