Annsley Niemann College of Health and Human Services An act to allocate up to $2200 from ASNAU Budget Line 156 for the Pre-Veterinary Club for their participation in the 2012 American Pre-Vet Medical Association Symposium. Whereas: They will be attending the 2012 American Pre-Vet Medical Association Symposium at North Carolina State. The conference will be from March 2nd - 4th, 2012. Whereas: The Pre-Vet Club will be sending up to 5 students. Whereas: The registration fee is $115 per student, totaling $575. The registration fee includes: Transportation to and from the University, meals, transformation to off campus lab, 1 lab session, several lectures, and conference supplies/handouts. Whereas: They will be staying at the conference hotel called the Hyatt Place Raleigh-North. The cost will be $109 a night. They will need 2 rooms for 2 nights, so with tax it will total $245 Whereas: They will be flying via U.S Airways airlines and each ticket will cost $591 per person. The total for 5 tickets will be $2955. Whereas: With the additional $500 for the O.A., their total allocation is $2700 which totals $540 per person. Whereas: Each student will be paying $75 out of pocket for a total of $375. The Club will cover $200, and future fundraising will cover $500. Whereas: The conference will be a good opportunity for students to visit a real Veterinary school, network with Veterinarians, learn from Veterinarians and experience a Veterinary lab first-hand. Additionally, it would be a good way for other schools to get to know the pre-vet students from NAU.
