Annsley Niemann College of Health and Human Services An act to allocate up to $425.60 from ASNAU Budget Line 156 for the NAU Chabad Club for their participation in the West Coast Intercollegiate Shabbaton in California.

Whereas: Shabbaton took place February 23-26th at a Chabad Student Center in Costa Mesa, California. Whereas: Eleven students attended the West Coast Shabbaton. Nine of these students also attended the New York Shabbaton in the fall, while for two students it was their first Shabbaton trip of the year. Whereas: The Chabad Club is seeking funding for the cost of gas for the two personal cars that were used for transportation, to and from California, as well as the cost of one train ticket for one student. The cost of fuel totaled $325.60. The cost of train fare totaled $100. Whereas: The total cost to attend Shabbaton was $1,974.60. This includes the $99 per student registration fee paid by each student, the local chapter fee of $500 paid by the club, as well as the travel costs. Whereas: The opportunity for students to attend the West Coast Shabbaton provided students with a chance to represent their school and bring school spirit to a convention of 15 schools, thus enacting a sense of camaraderie amongst these students and revitalize their school spirit and engagement here at NAU.
