Boiler: An enclosed vessel in which water is heated and circulated, either as hot water or as steam, for heating or power.

A boiler is a closed vessel in which water or other fluid is heated. The heated or vaporized fluid exits the boiler for use in various processes or heating applications.

its a closed vessel where incoming water is converted in to high pressure steam to run the turbine shaft which attached to generator will produce the power.. boiler is a heat exchanger, it is to convert water into steam. Boiler is a pressure vessel, which is tranfer the heat from source to fluid contained in it. finally we can say tht ,it is a heat exchanger. a boiler is pressure vessel and is used to increase the pressure and temperature of the fluid Basically boiler is a steam generator. Water is converted to steam. That steam is used for many purposes like rotating turbines, heating etc..Fuel to boiler can be either liquid or solid fuel boiler is one of the heat exchangers whose sole function is to convert water into steam irrespective of high pressure or medium pressure steam.the pressure generation is based on the temperature, design and capacity of the boiler which is used for the steam generation.

boiler is the vessel used in converted into water to steam. using on steam power plant
What Is A Boiler? A boiler is defined as "a closed vessel in which water or other liquid is heated, steam or vapor is generated, steam is superheated, or any combination thereof, under pressure or vacuum, for use external to itself, by the direct application of energy from the combustion of fuels, from electricity or nuclear energy."

Also included are fired units for heating or vaporizing liquids other than water where these units are separate from processing systems and are complete within themselves. This definition includes water heaters that exceed 200,000 Btu/hr heat input, 200 degrees Fahrenheit at the outlet, or 120 gallons nominal water containing capacity.
