Have you ever thought of God as a living Being? Scientists have generally categorised things as either living or non-living. They use certain characteristics to distinguish between the two. Even if youve never studied Biology, youd still agree with me that the characteristics of living things, among other things, include the following: Living things move Living things respire i.e. breathe Living things reproduce i.e. they give birth to young ones that are like them. Other characteristics of living things include nutrition, irritability, growth, excretion and adaptation. It is also important to note that within the living group, there are diversities and differences in the way these characteristics are expressed. For example, the movement of a tree cannot be compared to that of a cheetah. Now, lets come to God: first, He is the source of life [Gen 11, Gen 27, John 14, 1John 511]. Secondly, He moves [Gen 38Adam and Eve heard the sound of the footsteps of God]. To take it to a higher level, He works [Gen22- God rested from His work which He had made]. Also, God speaks [Gen13, 6, 11]. God even talks about His own children [Ps. 826]. These match with characteristics of living things, dont they? All these establish the fact that God is a living Being. Heb 1031 says it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. God has life! After this we may also want to ask: what kind of life does He have? This question arises if we know that life differs from life! I am talking about the order of life. For instance, there is the plant life, there is the animal life and

there is the human life. You could rightly go from cellular order to tissue order to systemic order and get to man, the biological climax of the level of order of life. That is, Biology recognizes that life gets more organized and more efficient as you move from smaller unicellular organisms high up till you get to man. A pinch of salt, for example, would kill an earthworm, but you dont want to use that to kill a snake. Why? The life of the snake is higher than that of the earthwormthe same reason why the expression of movement in the cheetah is better than in a tree. 1John5v11-12- And So, life differs from life, and there are this is the testimony: that God different levels of life. If this is true, then has given us eternal the human life cannot be the climaxa life, and this life is life plagued by sin, satan, oppression, in His Son. He who depression, sicknesses, diseases, has the Son has life; povertyand death! As we know it, there he who does not have is so much deficiency and imbalances in the Son of God does this world. You dont need to have not have life watched BBC or CNN to know what Im on about. If this is all there is about life, then we are all doomed. There just must be a more perfect life that cannot be plagued by these evilsmuch in the same way the human life cannot be terminated by a pinch of salt like the earthworms. This perfect life that Im talking about is the God-Lifethe Life of God. This life is not subservient to deathit is too lofty for you to juxtapose death with it. You may have cried for lack of intelligence or low IQ; if only you could have this life. Youd then function in the wisdom of God, the creator of the universethe planets and all their galaxies. What wisdom could you ever need! For

some others, its a sickness or disease theyve been battling; if only they could have this life. For some, its witches and wizards or ancestral cursesif only they could have this life. This God-Life cannot be plagued with the evils that plague the human life. But, is it possible for one to have this God-Life? Good newsYes! If so, how? Simpleby accepting the vicarious ministry of Jesus Christ! Vicarious means endured for somebody else: done or endured by somebody as a substitute for another person. This vicarious or substitutional ministry is what Jesus did for us through His death on the cross, His burial, resurrection and ascension. The death of Jesus the Christ means a lot of things to mankind. It means that sin has been taken out of our lives. Sin is the old naturethe nature that causes people to do wrong. When Adam ate the fruit at the word of satan, and in spite of the word of God, he shut God off and made room for the devil. Its just like your father telling you dont eat that cake! and your fathers enemy comes and tells you eat it, nothing will happen! And right in the presence of your father, you eat it. You sure can imagine what this could mean. Thats why the Spirit of God the Father left Adam and he automatically was in the hands of the devil. This act also made him share in the nature of the devil, which is sin. So, sin is more than an act, its a naturea cursed/corrupted nature. Its operation is just like thata curse. A curse can pass from generation to generation. Thats why its not an unpopular story that in some families, they are never able to accomplish a certain thing, or almost everybody dies

at/around a particular age. [What probably happened is that somebody long ago, did some wrong thing and got cursed. Now, its the 21st century and the problem still plagues the family]. You see what Im saying? I dont know if youve observed certain trends in some families. And just as a curse can pass from generation to generation, sin passed from Adam to all his descendantsthats every human being [Rom 512, 19]. But thank God, Jesus bore that sin nature upon Himself in His vicarious ministry and, He died [For the wages of sin is death-Rom 623]. Jesus died on the cross. On the third day, having shed His blood, He rose up to a new Life. This life is the Life of the Spirit of God, who is the Essence of God that fills all and maintains the presence and attributes of God everywhere. This is the Life that Jesus Christ rose with. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Master and Saviour, you partake of this Life. This is the Life of God as present in the resurrected Christ. This Life is vitality to your spirit, soul and body. When Christ rose up on the third day, the holes on His body were still found to be there [as a testimony to His crucifixion]. These were holes from big-size nails, thorns and spearmade just three days ago[John 2027-28]. These holes remind us that Jesus had actually shed His blood. Now if, as we know it, the life of the flesh is in the blood [Lev 1711], Jesus Christ ought to be in a dead state. It is physiologically accepted that once someone loses more than two litres of blood, a vicious circle sets in and the person cannot recover but keeps losing blood till he dies. Jesus first lost blood in the garden of Gethsemane when He suffered under the weight of sin and got so stressed that He developed hematidrosis (a very rare medical condition in

which a person sweats blood) (Lk 22v44). Jesus also lost blood through His blood vessels when they were broken through the crown of Rom 8v11 But if thorns put on His head, the nails, the the Spirit of Him whipping, the plucking of His beard and who raised Jesus other bruises. And finally, after He had from the dead dwells in you, He died, the blood that was left in His heart who raised Christ was shed when a spear was thrust through from the dead will His side into it (John 19v34). Basically, also give life to Jesus was drained of blood. This is exactly your mortal bodies what happened to Jesus that Friday through His Spirit afternoon, and Sunday morning, He was up, who dwells in you(NKJV) alive and activepassing through walls at will. Jesus Christ is the first person to walk on the streets of this earth without depending on human blood-life running in His veins. You see, His new Life was not a life of the flesh but that of the Spirit of God. Rom 82[paraphrased]this principle, the Holy Spirit-gives-Life principle that is at work in the resurrected Christ, is now at work in you, and it has made you free from the Sin-brings-death-principle that used to be at work in you. As said before, the Holy Spirit is the substantive Essence of Divinitythe God in God that makes God God. That is the Life that Christ resurrected withthe Life of the Spirit, the Life of God. And, it is the same Life you receive when you believe in your heart and confess that Jesus Christ is your Master and Saviour. If the God-Life cannot be inflicted with sickness, then when you receive this Life, that sickness that might have been in your body bows out. Curses bow out, too. You become free and free indeed.

This Life is also called the Eternal LifeLife without limit. You become limitless: you can achieve your dreams and you can reach your goals in the name of Jesus. With Eternal Life in you, your fore-ground is not a function of your background. This Life beats your family background and your ancestral history. It is the Life in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Receive that Life now by prayerfully speaking these words out loud wherever you are: Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. You died for me and rose again. I declare you my Lord and Master. Now, Im born anew into your Life. I have the Life of Christ in me. Im free of sickness in Jesus Name. Curses are broken in Jesus Name. I have the Life of God. Hallelujah!
