    Clapping sticks

    Get an adult to cut a stick or piece of dowel into two equal lengths of up to 30 cm.

    This activity kit contains:

    Rub the ends with sandpaper till they are smooth and slightly rounded.

    Paint a base colour all over the dowel and allow it to dry. (It may need 2 coats.)

    Paint different coloured decorations over the base colour. Allow to dry between each colour.

    Things you need:


    sandpaper dowel or thick sticks - 2 x 30cm long paint paintbrushes

    You can use upturned egg cartons to display your clapsticks.
