The story of Muzio Clementi

He was born in Italy, 1752. He played piano and organ. This is a story about Muzio Clementi. When Muzio was 9 he played the organ in a church. When he was 12 he created his first oratorio. He played so well that Peter Beckford, the nephew of Lord Mayor of London, wanted Muzio to learn in London. For seven years Clementi studied in London. In 1781 Muzio competed against Mozart. Even though Mozart was not very complimentary about Clementi's music, Clementi said he was astonished at how Mozart could play with so much spirit and grace. Muzio Clementi was not very famous until he developed a legato. Clementi was a composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, teacher, music publisher and a manufacturer of pianos. Some people call him the father of modern piano writing and playing. Muzio composed over 100 sonatas. His Introduction to the Art of Playing the Piano Forte was used by Beethoven. Two of Muzio's students were John Field and Johann Cramer. These men were also great composers. Muzio Clementi was an aggressive piano seller, who toured countries to promote his fine pianos. He even successfully negotiated with Beethoven to be the publisher of Beethoven's music. Muzio was also a Vocal composers . Some of his major compositions were II martirio de' gloriost and Santi Girolamo e Celso. Muzio Clementi died at age 80, 1832. He was honored by a funeral and burial at Westminster Abbey in London. Muzio was one of the greatest composers that ever live because most of his music, patterns and rythems are used in many other pieces.
