MARCH ON WASHINGTON

1) The march on Washington was basically a peaceful protest,in which a group gathers at the united states capital. There the protesters present grievances to lawmakers and draw attention to their cause, in simple words, they want their demands to become true. 2) Martin Luther King Jr. organized the campaign about racial discrimination between white and black people. Martin Luther was a pastor from Alabama who joined the struggle for black peoples rights. He organized a peaceful march on Washington D.C. demanding the rights of black people. And gave a speech that changed the world at that time. 3) The demands were simple, have equal rights with white people. Before the march, black people were discriminated often. Black people didnt have the right to vote, In busses they had separate seats from white people, white people had their own space to eat separate from blacks people space to eat, the demands were all of the above discriminations to stop and to have equal rights and stop racial discrimination and have a peaceful constexistance. 4) The march ended with a series of speeches, who many famous people spoke and at the end was the speech of Martin Luther King Jr. I have a dream which inspired millions of people, and Martin Luther received a Nobel prize for his speech. The essence of the speech was to be equal white and black people together in free world. Here is an extract of the speech: I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident? That all

men are created equal. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. Martin Luther King Jr. I have a dream That speech helped a lot at the civil rights movements, except of its liberative character its a wonderful piece of literature, it remains a legendary speech and many great speeches were based on this speech. The most important message of this speech was TO BE EQUAL.
