Hit by a Typhoon

A typhoon was coming. I heard the news on the radio and hurried home.
Around me, I saw everyone getting ready for the storm. Shopkeepers closed
their shops and everyone hurried home.
When I got home, I helped my mother to shut all of the windows. We put away
all of the plates and glasses so that nothing would break.
Soon, we could hear the great wind blowing inside. It lasted for a few hours.
When it was all over, I opened the windows again. I saw that the typhoon had
broken many windows. Many trees had fallen down as well.
I hoped that there would not be another typhoon for a long time.
