Lecture and Reading List The Academic Study of International Relations


M.Phil. in International Relations PRS in International Relations This class is designed to give first year graduate students an introduction to the academic study of international relations. It provides a history of the discipline of international relations, as well as introduction to key schools of thought and methodological debates. The class will meet on Wednesday mornings (weeks 1-5) from 9.30-11.30 a.m. in Seminar Room D (second floor) in the Department of Politics and International Relations, Manor Road. The first hour is devoted to a lecture; the second hour is open discussion between students and faculty. Students are required to attend all four sessions and to read the items under Core Reading for each session.
