201209 Dated 27 June 2012 TO: Loyola Schools Student Body FROM: Ateneo Commission on Elections RE: 2012 Sanggunian Freshmen and Special Elections Available Positions Article X of the Amended Electoral Code 2011 provides that: Vacancies that occur in the Central Board and School Boards before the election of freshman officers, with the exception of the positions of Sanggunian President and School Board Chairpersons, shall be filled via a special election to be held simultaneously with the Freshman Year Officers Election. Hence, simultaneous with the election of freshmen Sanggunian officers in the upcoming Freshmen and Special Elections this August 8 to 10, 2012, special elections would be held for positions not filled during the recent Sanggunian General Elections as well as those vacated recently. The Commission recognizes that it is important to release a database containing the positions that would be opened for candidacy in the upcoming elections as soon as possible. However, considering that the number of course representatives depends on the population of voters for each particular course and that the end of registration period for the Loyola Schools would still be on June 30, 2012, a tentative database shall be used for the meantime (http://bit.ly/ListofAvailablePositions). It should be emphasized that the number of course representatives may be subject to change, but rest assured the database shall be updated to reflect changes and announcements would be made in relation to such.
