This site is great for students who need a little extra help outside of class time. There are short tutorials created through YouTube that cover math, science, economics, healthcare, history, SAT prep, and a bit more. 3. http://www.discoveryeducation.com/

Teacher Tube is a free resource that teachers can use. It provides appropriate material for the classroom in short videos. Students can also access it, which would be good for homework or studying. One thing I dont like about it is that you have to create an account in order to not see the pop-up ads before viewing videosbut, the account is free.

5.

http://www.edmodo.com/

The more I use Edmodo, the more l like it. Teachers can create their own account/site. Groups can be created within that site, so I have a group for each class that I want to access Edmodo. It is free to create an account; its safe for students because they can only access the areas that the teacher gives permission for; its a great way to integrate Web 2.0 into teaching. Students like it because its easy to use and it feels like FaceBook. 6. http://coolmath.com/

Coolmath.com offers math assistance to all levels of math. It offers areas for teachers, students, and parents. There are games, books, puzzles, lessons, dictionaries all about math. Theres even a section on science. One of the best features of the site is a free online graphing calculator that graphs in color, which makes it easier to read.

Thinkfinity is a part of the Verizon Foundation. It offers tools to use in the classroom including lesson plans, videos, student interactives, standard alignments. There is also a section for parents and students that includes afterschool activities, games, and tools. Another plus for teachers is the professional development section of the site including state specific information, online courses, webinars, a blog, and a newsletter. There is a lot to this website! 8. http://thegateway.org/

The Gateway is another tool for accessing Internet-based lesson plans. They are sponsored by the NEA. 9. https://accounts.google.com

Im learning what an awesome tool this site can be. I knew about Google Docs, but what I didnt realize until recently is that the documents created on Google can be saved and shared among teachers and/or students. This can be a great way to encourage collaboration in the classroom. 10. http://www.go2web20.net/

This site is full of online tools and apps. It lists categories, and then subcategories for searching. For example, if you click on e-learning and find student, 21 different links will come up for online tools and apps. It looks like there are 71 pages on the site full of links to these different tools and apps. 11. Brokers of Expertise Educational Resources http://myboe.org/

This site is developed by the State of California. They develop high quality educational resources; help educators find each other for collaboration; give educators a place to collaborate and share. There are hundreds of lessons that are posted and already correlated to the state standards. This is one of the best tools on the site because you can search for lessons by the standard/s you are looking to teach.

12.

http://www.wikipedia.org/

OK, not original but I think it is one of the top sites for educators and students. The reason I think its one of the top sites is that students love it. They use it. Theyre not going to stop using it! That being the case, it can be used by educators as a tool to teach students how to use it correctly and how to use wikis in general. This can be a wonderful research tool as wellif students are taught to use it as a springboard for their research.
